Rookie of the Year > The Sandlot

but both are GREAT movies. I just prefer Rookie of the Year.

It's a great movie but I don't know about of all time.

I can't say it's the best, but it's in my top tier of non animated kid movies.

Old yeller
Sandlot
Heavyweights
Goonies
Little big league
Rookie of the year
Where the red fern grows (the original)
And probably a handful of others that I haven't seen in a while.

Heavyweights is probably my second favorite on the list (little big league) and if I have the DVD here at my house, I'm about to put it on.

What is it with y'all and The Sandlot? It was okay, but nowhere near the best non-animated kids movie of all time. My vote (if I had a vote, if we were voting and if that voting process counted for anything) goes to Labyrinth.

If you played baseball as a kid in the 90's then there was no other movie on the earth better than the Sandlot.

Its the Goonies and then the Sandlot. Also Little Big League shits down Rookie of the Year's throat. So does Angels in the Outfield.

And it's not even remotely close

There isnt a "its not even close" answer in this debate, because it holds no ground. Thats not true in regards to any genre of film.

The Goonies is the greatest non-animated kids movie of all time, but after that, I think you could make a case for The Sandlot.

This is the correct answer.

so what I have learned from this thread is that I had horrible parents since I've never seen The Goonies

I do think The Sandlot is awesome, and I played baseball growing up in the 90s
