And yet this year everything could click for him, it would not be the first time that has happened.

They say the same of Jefferson and Lee. On the ESPN message board they keep throwing out stats about how Yates put up the same numbers as Jefferson, however they dont realize that Yates did it against GT, MD, and UVA while JJ did it against UF, UA, and UGA.

love how the McNeese St fan is basing all of his assesements of our squad based on the way these kids played in a season opener against them 2 years ago as Sophomores.

Dude, im pretty sure most everyone saw Yates play last year and he was TERRIBLE. I mean, he almost didnt resemble a QB some times. Dont try to sugar coat it. IF UNC beats us, it wont be because of Yates.

OUR OL was the problem last year he was running for his life all season and lost all his confidence. The OL will not be a weak link this year. Yates is not a game changer QB but given the right scheme he can manage a gmae fine and make plays when we need to. He Elway's a game winning drive for us in Blackburg to beat Va Tech last year. We dont need him to throw the ball all over the field just to be smart and manage a good game with no more than 1 pick. He can get it done I promise you.

Average defense JJ faced 51.5
Average defense TY faced 53.92

I only did 12 teams for JJ since he did not play against LA Tech they were not included.

100% true, as he will be avoiding whatever side of the field where a certain #7 lines up.

Not saying that Yates is a good QB by any means, but a lot of last years failures can be attributed to the lack of good receivers. If you go back to our 2008 season, Yates was playing very well before he got injured in the VT game. His best performance was at Rutgers where we took them behind the woodshed 44-12.

I don't think he's as good as he showed then, nor as he as bad as he showed last year.
