He can go, he doesn't bring anything recruiting wise and offense has passed him by - he was only here to see his son play high school ball

Agents will take care of the slam dunk first round guys (like Ingram, Jones, Dareus, Peterson), if your a fringe first round pick or lower you probably ought to stay in school (Hightower, Barron, Ridley)
Dinardo actually hired him but Saban kept him on when no Mich St guys came with him, he needed Haywood for recruiting to keep the guys in the class he had.

I let Stewart finish out next year and then make the move, coach in waiting is not a good recipe.
Based on West Va style of offense do you really want Geno Smith learning a whole new offense - this could be disastrous.
I like the white unis Oregon rolls out, pretty bad arse

the socks are really bad
Two words - LYNN NANCE recruiting dynamo
or Van Chancellor golfing buddy
Eades will pitch and probably get some at bats as well at dh

Ware might actually have a spot if those 2 players are gone and the injury spots open

Garrett's status is iffy injury wise and I'm not sure what his plans are
ticket charges - if the going rate starts to approach $1 million.
Luck is the safer pick, another Matt Ryan.
Cam, not sure how he will translate to NFL, did not have to read defenses every down at Auburn, they will want to limit his pounding as a high pick as well which will negate his running strength.

Since Clausen wasn't a first rounder, Panthers could easily dump him and give up already.
want Alleva hiring the next football coach, we'll see if Johnson pans out for basketball.
Bama was as close to death penalty with Means deal than anyone since then because of the amount of money involved.

Auburn if it comes out that Newton got anywhere close to that after handling this the way it was will get severe penalties but probably not death
Coordinators are not worth that much money.
What will Malzahn be like with Barrett Trotter at QB?

Where will it stop with assistant salaries?

Auburn has two head coaches on staff now
They were looking at locations where FOX already had setups for tv coverage - Detroit being one and New Orleans being one

As far as next week, who knows, Saints are on road so they could send a crew to New Orleans but I would say doubtful - I guess with Minn being a dome team that is what they are after a domed stadium

Fisher brought Muschamp to Saban
Muschamp brought Smart to Saban

Smart actually gets to call the defense this year and you can bet Saban ripped him a couple of times this year
Mett would be more of a distraction for this bowl game than anything else, LSU and Jefferson and Lee need to focus on this game and win it.

Then Mett can start wowing the Gridiron Club

This could be SMU type probation
So what was Holtz and the boosters giving out back in the 80s as incentives?
The Stagg Paterno trophy
What about Tom Osbourne?

Nebraska will be the red headed step child again.

The Big Ten will send their winner to the Rose Bowl or BCS Champ Game to get taken behind the woodshed by a SEC team

If it really was close to $3 million, I would have taken it with a nice buyout, could be a coach killer job though although it got Dinardo a better job and Johnson had chances to leave as well.

Really though, does Malzahn have to sit on the Vandy job for two days. The longer he waited you knew he had cold feet.
LSU Texas also had a home and home scheduled which Texas backed out on when conferences expanded back in 90's

The final match-up, a 33-17 A&M home win, brought the overall series record to its current tally: LSU 26, Texas A&M 20, Ties 3.

The story of why the series ended can really be summed up in one word: money.

“I inherited a 10-year contract with LSU and Texas A&M, which is unusual. You don’t see that a lot,” explained Joe Dean Sr., LSU athletic director from 1987-2001, in a recent interview.

“What happened, and I was responsible for it to be honest, was we went from seven league games to eight league games,” Dean continued. “And it put a strain on us when we had to go there (to College Station). We needed that extra home game for financial reasons.”

Dean went on to explain that LSU, which cut the contract off with two years remaining, had to pay $100,000 to do so. He also lamented the death of the A&M rivalry, but added that his was a common predicament in the early-nineties with conferences changing and taking shape.

Another example, Dean explained, was with Texas. According to the LSU basketball All-Century team member, he had the Longhorns on the hook for a home-and-home, but UT backed out, citing financial reasons, when it picked up an extra league game.

or

The other proposal, which was favored by every coach we talked to, calls for the NCAA postseason before the CWS to be played in a best-of-three series format, beginning with 64 teams in opening round action, 32 teams in the second series and 16 teams in the third round of series. The final eight teams, of course, would advance to the CWS. This format would add an extra week to the postseason schedule.

The first proposal calls for 32 NCAA Regional sites that include a three-game series between two teams to begin the postseason. The winners of the best-of-three series would move on to play in eight four-team NCAA Super Regionals, with the winner advancing to the College World Series.

THE FIRST ONE WOULD BE A JOKE, THE SUPER REGIONAL WOULD BE REALLY DIFFICULT AND MORE TAXING ON PITCHING BUT IT WOULD ALLOW FOR MORE REGIONAL SITES

Did they get Erin Andrews permission, might be asking for a lawsuit
NCAA athletics was a joke in the 80's
SMU got caught and in order to minimize the damage they continued making payments which ultimately led to the death penalty. Of course, when you start going out of state for players, those guys will be the first to turn when things don't work out.

All the SW conference schools were no different and outside of Vandy the SEC has been just as bad, including LSU.
and realize to truly judge this program we will have to wait another year or two.

With that said, Sat night performance was inexcusable, granted the layoff may have been a factor in the terrible shooting and out of sync they looked.

But, in year 3 of the program I would take Ark State and Brady over this team right now and that's not a very good sign.

I still don't get the Lynn Nance hire, he brings nothing to the recruiting table and I see less fundamentals out there than last year. To me it was a bad hire!

Broncos go outside for new hire
Kubiak is done

Frazier and Garrett named permanent coaches

I think Mangini could still be on hot seat and Dolphins under Sparano might be getting close too
Amazing no QB could doom Jimmy Johnson, Nick Saban, and Parcells protege

Caldwell could be an interesting decision as well, Polian will not like this collapse but injuries have been devastating. I could see Dungy back to Colts one day or even Saban

UGA, most of their fans are closet Tech fans
Be careful selling right outside Dome, there are signs posted regarding this as well.

There will be so many people walking from quarter to Dome - sell them on the streets before you get to Dome
