Let's assume money and available vacation time are not issues for you. What week long trip focused on food and drink would you plan?

For me, Napa Valley would be the easy answer.

For something different, look up The Inn at Blackberry Farm in Tennessee. One of the best small hotel/resorts in the country.

I just heard about the place recently, but it sounds like a place I could get lost at for 4 or 5 days. Seems to have a perfect mix of fine dining with great drinks and is also near the great outdoors.
If given the choice, I like these kinds of places more than just hitting the city.

San Francisco for me, but I just like the scenery better there than NY city. I'm sure NY city has everything San Fran does, I'm just more familiar with the hilly city.

Now, if you add music in there, NY city would crush San Fran unless the timing were truly lucky.

global?
San Sebastian....BARELY edging out Vietnam.

Domestic?
Yountville, CA and then Napa. I'll make this one happen when this project is complete, mid summer.

I don't know of anywhere in the U.S. that has the concentration of amazing food and wine per capita that Yountville boasts. I have to go.

If you like food and wine, it really does not get much better than that city. We only had 2 days there but I could've stayed for a week.

Vietnam is another one that sounds incredible.

It may be a cliche, but it's still the gold standard, I'd like to knock out first, if I was doing this.

Paris and perhaps half the trip in the countryside at some wineries.

Barcelona/San Sebastian would be up there as well.

Nationally, San Fran/Napa would run second to NYC...I couldn't imagine planning 7 days of meals in NYC and not worrying about money...

Italy. I don't know if you could find more regional variations worth trying in such proximity. Traveling from city to city, canvassing the entire country.

Domestically, I'd have to say Las Vegas.

Globally, Japan gets my nod.

Strasbourg is one of the best food towns I have ever visited. In many ways, I liked it better than Paris.
