As tacky as the sponsorship patches are, I'm glad LSU's is pretty subtle and not intrusive

If tweet fails to load, click here. Having already seen sponsorship patches in the MLB for a couple years, it's obvious some look absolutely terrible be it the size or mismatching color scheme. See no further than the Seattle Mariners' Nintendo patch
These had the potential to look awful on LSU's iconic whites, but I think they did a pretty decent job with what they come up with.
Wonder which iconic CFB jersey will look ridiculous with a mismatched ugly patch?
Imagine Alabama's red with a blue AT&T logo patch
Arkansas with a blue and yellow Walmart patch

Surely you get that, right?

Think Premier League uniforms: that’s exactly where we are headed.

Patches are fine.....but do NOT change the gold/white home unis.....EVER!

I don’t understand the complaints about something that generates revenue that supports the quality of product the fan wants at no cost to them. The laundry isn’t sacred.
The Nike ad on the other side has been there for decades at this point. What’s the difference?

This thread is me doing quite the opposite of bitching about LSU's sponsorship patch

Nike logo is not really the same as a patch to me, but that's me.
Not a fan of the patch, but I'm not complaining about it knowing it can help bring in money.
I think it's absolutely ridiculous that professional sports have patches. I don't agree that should be a thing. They already having advertisements behind the plate, on the screen, on the outfields. Sometimes on the mound. Why is a patch on a uniform needed? It seems so unprofessional at that level. However, that's just my opinion. I'm not losing my mind over it.

And once you start down this path, it will only expand. How much is too much? Two patches? 3? 4? 10?
How many corporate logos on the Tiger Stadium field? There's one now - which is hideous. How many more?
What about stadium naming rights - because that's coming too.
The lust for cash is all-consuming. And I'd prefer we resist that nonsense.

IKR. I agree it's more subtle than the MLB ones.

This is just the start.
What if a huge amount is offered if LSU will wear Crimson and Gold? According to you geniuses we should do it after all, it’s only laundry and we get money.
How about $20 mil to change the mascot to the Penises? Gotta take the money and it’s just letters so what’s the big deal?
I know, 100 mil to move LSU from BR to Bunkie! Allllll that money! And it’s just a location!
College sports are gone, and I miss it.

A nice red Cane’s patch will look great.
