re: What we learned from opening at 19 - CrippleCreek
They will have to answer the question of whether a two-loss team with two extremely quality wins deserves to be in. They can't just ignore it. Currently, there is no precedent for that situation in the CFP era.
You mean other than the extremely analogous situation presented by Pe...

re: Massive Reduction in Piped-In Music - CrippleCreek
People don't want to hear it, but starting any later than about 5:30 is a terrible idea with respect to attendance for anything but a marquee game. The total time investment with traffic and TV run-times has made the "traditional" 7pm start time a complete non-starter. I'd guess 4th quarter at...

re: Guess the Attendance - CrippleCreek
Also, its the opener and there is way more hope and optimism regarding the season and the opener.
LSU was in the middle of beating the hell out of everyone and had the overwhelming Heisman favorite on the team when that happened. There may well be more people, but that's just n...

re: Logistically speaking, places that LSU/BYU cannot be played if the start time is unchanged - CrippleCreek
Foley acted in the best interest of his university and their football team. The situations are completely different. That this situation is being handled in a different way should be no surprise and bitching about it makes lsu fans look silly....

re: Game of Thrones S7E6: "Beyond The Wall", HODORS ONLY (No Book Readers) - CrippleCreek
The Night King is just a horrible, lazy, Marvel-level big bad. If next week is all south of the wall, they will have failed to accomplish the most important task facing the show to shift him from an avatar to a character. And worse yet it looks like they won't even try....

re: Game of Thrones is Becoming Too Predicable [SPOILERS] - CrippleCreek
The set-pieces are huge, yes, but I see a difference between the set-pieces and the story. Hardhome is the culmination of the human story of Jon/Nights Watch/Freefolk. If the ultimate antagonist is the night king, he isn't really a character as much as an avatar. That's not good....

re: Game of Thrones is Becoming Too Predicable [SPOILERS] - CrippleCreek
I think that's a huge problem for both the TV and book sagas. Huge numbers of people were drawn in to the fantasy saga for people who don't really like the magical/fantasy elements. As the story has unraveled and magic has become more and more prevalent and is now looking like the ultimate end-ga...

re: Game of Thrones is Becoming Too Predicable [SPOILERS] - CrippleCreek
I think seasons 4/5 suffer a lot from how poorly paced and generally lethargic the source material is. I thought 6 improved things a lot, and last night was strong. I found the last two books an absolute chore to read....

re: Biggest statement games in SEC since 2000 - CrippleCreek
Alabama beating LSU in National Championship game shaped the direction of two equal programs
This game was obviously massive, but I would argue that 2012 in TS was a bigger deal. LSU wins that game, and the seesaw that was the series before that game continues to be so. Losing ...

re: BYU ticket notification emails going out tomorrow, per ticket office. All requests filled. - CrippleCreek
It'll be 2/3 full at best even after the 5/25 deals they run on Groupon the week of the game. I'd say it's the worst scheduled non-TS game I'd ever seen on an LSU schedule, but we have Rice in Houston coming up too....

re: If I was a HS Senior in Louisiana and wanted to play football out of state - CrippleCreek
Leaving Louisiana is the most rational choice for most kids lsu is recruiting, but for football. But football exists. So they should absolutely stay home....

re: Florida wins the CWS. Thank you seniors!!!! - CrippleCreek
What was the fricking plan if we had gotten the runs in the 7/8? Surely he didn't honestly think he was gonna have Hess get them all the way home? Great season all around, but it really bothers me that they hung Hess out to dry like that to end it....

If you hear mett tell it, he scored on that play and les told the refs to place it on the 1 so lsu didn't score again ...

re: Top 5 possible basketball hires - CrippleCreek
money was never the problem
That may be, but if Alleva spends at or near the top of the market after taking a trip to the Dollar General to find the football coach there will, and should be, blowback. The market for the lsu basketball coach will not be set by the CBB market, but...

re: Fournette's playing weight in the NFL - CrippleCreek
It's hard to completely isolate the impact weight had on him last season because of the ankle issues, but anyone who legitimately thinks he was as dynamic in 16 as 15 when he was on the field just doesn't remember how good he was in 15. His start/stop and change of direction were on an entirely d...

re: . - CrippleCreek
At the moment Alabama has the best coach in CFB history who is in the midst of one of the greatest runs in the sport's history, and LSU has a coach with no track record of success in producing consistently successful teams or preparing players for successful NFL careers. Alabama also has superior...
How in the hell could he do better in business after football going to Bama than coming back to set up shop in Louisiana?
Maybe he has post-football business goals that go beyond a desire to simply trade on his name and he thinks Bama would better prepare him to achieve those goals...

It definitely was. It was good because the battle was great. The rest really drove home what a homerun they hit with Ridley and Driver in the main story though....
