Amazing, how much $$ this Nuss cyst cost.

$54 m to Kelly
$90m + Kiffin
$40m for new roster
EST $20+m for new support staff/asst coaches
$10m buyout for prior staff

Amazing. Simply amazing.

I wonder if LSU might try to clawback some of that 54MM because of Greg brooks and Nuss.

How would they do that?

This $40m figure for a new roster. Does this include staff salaries or just players? I’ll hang up and listen.

I bashed a hole in the drywall at my house when Nuss couldnt’t hit a wide open receiver downfield. So add $36 to the total please.

LSU still had Joe Sloan in charge of the offense. That was the much, MUCH, bigger problem. That offensive approach was awful and no QB, including a healthy Nussmeier would have had any real success in it. Listen to any former player who followed LSU. They will tell you that. If you listened to Hester and Flynn they, nicely, implied the offensive approach was horrible. After BK was ousted they were more direct in speaking about just how bad the design and play calling was. For example, one said "It might help if you have more than 1 and half running plays so the defense doesn't know exactly what it coming every time." Or, "does LSU (i.e. Sloan) know you are allowed to throw the ball over the middle of the field?" This isn't people on the Rant saying that. It's guys who played high level football for years.

If you want to reduce BK's failure to one decision, it was the decision to let Denbrock walk in what was ultimately an effort to sign Underwood. BK didn't fully appreciate that recruiting now is really just contract negotiations. It DID NOT matter that LSU invested years and money in building the relationship with Underwood. In the end, the bigger contract offer won out.

Think about how much it cost Nuss. Projected 1st round pick, falling to 3rd- 6th round.

And how much would proper MRI’s, a correct diagnosis, and proper timely treatment would have cost the program as a minuscule amount compared to the cost of missing the diagnosis?

I have heard from multiple folks Denbrock’s departure was directly tied to Brad Davis and his untouchable status for reasons.

ETA: Brad not Bo. His line was so bad my brain processed it out.

If Nuss is healthy...does it change things? Do you think Brian Kelly was still the long-term answer at LSU? Or did this merely speed up the process?

That cyst didn't make our OL suck and unable to establish a run game.

The fact that Nuss was a QB, probably made it easy to misdiagnose the discomfort. The tourque of throwing creating a strain that would pass with a little rest, would be an easy miss.

IMO it’s worth it to have Kelly gone.
