Apple hasn’t had vision of their future since Jobs dying. New versions of the iPhone were leaps forward back then. They have just been treading water since.

Cook was good at the business side of things but Apple’s innovation is completely gone.

They’ve got to back to that

Good. Maybe the next fricker can fix the damn keyboard on the iPhone so there isn’t a typo every other word you type

Whatever terrorist messed that up should never be employed in tech again.

Their profits and market value have soared under Cook. That’s the point of any company. Not sure what the next great idea will be. At some point it’s just incremental improvements. Jobs was good at innovation but terrible at business.

What can they really do to it that would be a leap forward besides fixing the keyboard issue

Exactly. Cook is great with supply chain, retail and operations, but he’s not a product guy at all.

Jobs was a class A a-hole, but he was great at market prediction and organizing the company to deliver on their visionary stuff.

A great example is that the Mac operating system is still based on the one that he and his team developed at Next. When he came back to Apple, he had them buy out Next and take the operating system they had created and repurpose it as OSX. They’ve only incrementally improved it over time, no massive overhauls.

Not really true. When he came back to Apple, what he did was pretty masterful. Recruiting Cook from Compaq and elevating Ive to a leadership role were certainly damn smart business decisions as well.

If Jobs came back to life for a day, he would lose his shite that Siri was still unusable 15 years later.

All the while every other company has been out innovating….oh wait. Not….

There’s just some times in technology where innovation takes time for awhile

I mean, AI is a pretty massive innovation and Apple completely missed the boat to the point they are now reliant on Google for the AI backend for Siri

First, he bent over. Now he’s “stepping down”. Is that what they call it these days?

Fair. So that’s been what, the last 6-12 months? People have been repeating this line over and over about Apple since the 2000s

I have always hated Siri. I finally tried to use it again the other day thinking it must have improved. I was experimenting with keeping track of billable time by dictation in Notes on days when I’m all over the place. Siri was like, f you bitch do it your own damned self.
