much like Weapons, i saw Parasite after being exposed to way too much hype. it could never have lived up to my expectations. good movie though.

Don't know what my favorite movie was prior to 2019 but I know I don't think I've seen a better movie since then. Truly incredible film.
About halfway in I was thinking it was just kind of mediocre, but from the moment the old housekeeper shows up to the rich family's house, it goes from zero to 100 quick and is just a wild ride.
Edit: 2019 as a whole was one of the best years for movies in quite a long time.

Same, I went in expecting something amazing start to finish due to the hype and the first 30min were kind of meh and then it took off.
Movie was much better on a rewatch and although, I don't think its a top 5 or 10 all time like some claim, its a solid movie and one of the best of the last 10yrs.

Parasite really is a good movie. And I'm with imyLSUimy 2019 was absolutely without a doubt the last good year of movies we've had.
