How many baby showers until it becomes trashy?

Been seeing people have baby showers for their 2nd or 3rd children lately.
They are basically asking for free handouts for items they probably received from 1st child’s baby shower

It’s extremely trashy after the first one. Maybe have a meet and great with the baby but put on the invitation “No gifts”.

I’ve heard of someone having a “sprinkle” to re up on things like diapers for the second child but a full on second and third shower seems to be a bit much.

I can honestly say that I’ve never once been to a baby shower. Thought these were for women?

My wife's friends put a brunch thing together for her for baby 2 and baby 3 with a few gifts and diapers.

Not a big deal and we're grateful people care about her/us enough to do that.

You people need a life.

Usually nothing major like the first child, but a get together to welcome a second or third is nothing outrageous. May be the last time that they can see their friends in a more social setting for a few months. I can also see a little more they know the gender and it’s different than their first.

The pre wedding events, wedding gifts, multiple baby showers are out of control.

Women will gladly ask for an excessive amount of free stuff

You have them for the first one, that's it.

I just found out that "push" gifts exist. Mom gets a gift for pushing the kid out.

Fine with two…typically each mom likes to throw one.

First, you’ll need to actually convince someone to have a child with you

I'm not sure but I think a member of their family or a friend have a baby shower for the mother. So its not on them.

That was a relatively new thing when mine came along 16 years ago. I did not participate.

A sprinkle if baby is opposite gender for say clothing or gender-related items isn’t trashy. I can attend or decline. If it’s someone I care about, baby and mama will receive gifts anyway.
