My wife grew up in rich circles. The 10-15 baby showers she attends a year are pretty much just excuses to get together and socialize at the country clubs.

A sprinkle if baby is opposite gender for say clothing or gender-related items isn’t trashy. I can attend or decline. If it’s someone I care about, baby and mama will receive gifts anyway.

That’s what we did. First was a girl and 5 years later her little brother came along. We were well past the baby stage and none of the baby girl clothes would work for a boy. It was mainly clothes and diapers that we got.

Have as many as you want just leave it girls only. This trend where guys are part of it is pathetic.

Yep. Baby showers are nonsense, but if women want to get together and have them, whatever. Trying to involve us men, absolutely not. Never gone to one and never will. She can get as mad as she wants. She's gonna learn to stop asking.

I’ve heard of someone having a “sprinkle” to re up on things like diapers for the second child but a full on second and third shower seems to be a bit much.

Most men end up paying for all the shite 2 and 3rd time parents don't need, and should be paying for themselves. Women shouldn't need an excuse to get drunk and share charcuterie, leave the gifts out of it.

What we need is a father version of the baby shower, where he and all his friends and male family members have a keg party for one last barn burner before fatherhood. And the gifts are bottles of alcohol, meats that can be frozen, and amphetamines. And cash gifts always welcome.... folding money that can be hidden and used for personal purposes off the books.

My wife's friends put a brunch thing together for her for baby 2 and baby 3 with a few gifts and diapers.

Not a big deal and we're grateful people care about her/us enough to do that.

You people need a life.

doesn’t all of that happen when men go hunting with their friends?

One baby shower vs a few hunting trips per season

And yall are complaining about women??

Maybe some introspection is needed.

I can honestly say that I’ve never once been to a baby shower. Thought these were for women?

Being the dude at a baby shower is a tough look.
