How high / medium / low was your anxiety level day of the piercing?
Got haircut. Piercing place is adjacent. Saw a Mom getting her daughter's (guessing 8 mos old) ears pierced.
I asked. Nil anxiety by this Mom. If my wife, probably would have been at least a sleepless night.
Got me curious.

May as well get her started up right. Was there a tattoo parlor nearby?

My daughter is 2 and my wife and I decided not to force this and let her ask for it down the road. I ain’t watching my baby girl cry in pain

The same women piercing their infants ears are the same women yelling “my body, my choice” yet not giving their child a choice.
Signed a mom who will let her daughter decide if and when she wants it. I also think waiting helps them learn choices and to be brave IF they decide they want it.

Exactly how I felt. She is in her 20s now and her ears aren't pierced yet! She has never complained.

Trashy with a capital T.
We let our daughter wait until she was old enough to decide on her own.

My wife has shown no interest in getting our 3yo daughter’s ears pierced. The only time someone else asked, she said “I’ll let her pierce them when she asks to”
Seems fine to me.

You don’t have to get it done at the mall. Pediatricians do it most of the time now.
I don’t have a lean either way, but the argument I have heard for doing it young is less scaring, less risk of infection, no fear of needles yet, no memory of the piercing and hardly any pain since their ears are like jello. 95% of girls will get them pierced eventually.

Yep...treating kids as a fashion accessory. These are the same people who put a perfectly healthy dog in a baby stroller.

Yeah this is more for moms who want to force it on their daughter

Meh. They're going to cry, but it'll be OK. It's probably the "pop" noise that scares them more so than any pain.

This.
No girl younger than 16 years-old should have her ears pierced.
