This would definitely be interesting. I wonder how close that would put them on market share and bumping up against anti-trust laws.

Was just in grapevine tx hotel that had an AA plave incoming for a landing every 90seconds outside my window. Couldve been me in those negotiations.

False. Everyone says that about every airline.

This would suck honestly.
UA and AA both suck in their own rights but at least they compete now.
Air travel started to really blow arse when we started merging airlines. The service went to shite because the market is captured.
Remember when you went to the airport and there was like 20 different airline counters to check in at?
Now it’s like 6 of them

How is this different from Jetblue/Spirit that got slapped down?

If this manifests, it needs to be struck down. Same thing with the proposed UP/NS merger.

ironic that we've almost come full circle since deregulation, the ones that were strong prior to it are the ones still standing, something like 160 airlines have folded since that travesty began

You need to recalibrate.
Spirit is the universal measure.

How does a CC stop delays and cancellations?

How would this be any different then the JetBlue Spirit merger that the DOJ and courts shot down a couple years ago citing antitrust ?
Or is it different since United and American are part of the ‘too big to fail’ group that owns Washington?

Just talked to my buddy who's a UA pilot. He said that the CEO left AA on less than great terms and has been somewhat verbal about crushing them.
