Would you help a complete stranger who is being mugged?

If it was a member of my family, of course. If it was a close friend, sure I would. But I wouldn’t do anything other than call the police to help a complete stranger. I definitely wouldn’t step in and fight the offender. I have two children, and I’m not going to risk getting stabbed for some stranger who probably voted for Kamala Harris, or is an illegal alien, or who is on welfare. Again, the extent that I would provide help is to watch from afar and call the cops.

I struggle with this. As a husband and father, I have to be very selective about risking my life and leaving my wife and kids unprotected and not provided for. At this point in my life, I probably lean towards not getting physically involved but later in life that probably changes.

There are so many variables here. Weapon, size of perp (or count), how threatening they are, who's the victim, etc.
If I see some 80 year old woman being mugged violently by someone I'm stepping in unless I think I'll die.

if were the 80's or 90s without cameras in everyone's hands id say yeah 90% time i would get involved. I like a good scrap and its an excuse to beat some arse.
Now? i would be way more hesitant. You never know what narrative is going to get spun from a video, and yes, you will be filmed in this day in age. I am also no spring chicken anymore. If its an elderly person or handicapped being mugged though, no question, get in there.
You guys with kids to raise, i get the hesitation though.

Okay, I get that there are too many variables. Let me narrow it down. Black woman in her early thirties is the victim. Black man is the offender. Black man doesn’t appear armed. Black man is 6’ tall and 210lbs. He punches her in the face and is trying to wrestle her purse away from her.

I think logically it may be best to stay away, and you have to be sure who is being mugged and who is the mugger. But, I'm sure I would jump in. Would probably just act without thinking. Probably not smart.
