Tigers just can't seem to keep the other teams they play from scoring a lot of runs whether it be mid-week games or SEC series. The every day players aren't as good as our 2025 all-stars especially in infield but they are still scoring runs. Let's get our pitching together down the stretch and should be in good shape to make some noise in SEC tournament and post-season. Hoping for the best. Get it together Tigers!

what a dumb take. When you're defense fails to make routine plays, pitching stats are always inflated. Every pitcher on our staff would have a better ERA if we weren't making multiple bad plays in the field every game. How many times does our defense fail to make a play, followed by our catcher dropping the ball moving the runner up, then an infield grounder finds a hole due to a shift and the run scores?

This seems to happen every game, if not multiple times a game.

The issue is our defense is shite, and our hitting is worse.

I don’t believe so. I think our numbers get blown up from a pitching side slightly due to horrible defense and constantly playing from behind due to our offense getting put in a blender for 5 innings every game. Our pitching hasn’t been great either though. It’s just all bad.

Every aspect of this team is bad… They can’t pitch, hit, catch, run, and throw… this is a combination that makes a losing team.

The hitting is what amplifies all of the others issues. During CJJs tenure, we have usually been able to overcome some of the other problems by outhitting everyone.

Every phase of the game is an issue for this team. They struggle in all of them!

Ever watch a so so opponent’s pitcher suddenly look like a “Cy Young Award” winner against LSU.

It’s not all poor batting by LSU. It’s the opponent’s defense, fielding, and better play and trust for their catcher.

Too many times, LSU’s defense places the pitcher into extended moments.

Too many dropped balls by the catcher can have an affect on the pitcher’s confidence in high pressure situations.

Routine DP’s turn into circus of the stars.

I think all areas of play start to spiral when the defense begins to unravel.

Got to find a way to fix the defense. A rising tide raises all boats. Improving everything begins with the defense.

Ev erything is the issue with this team, we dont do anything well.

Hitting
Pitching
Fielding

And that's with an ace shortstop who has committed 1 error all season which is the crazier part. Catchers cant catch, rest of the infield cant field; hitting is worst we've had (or tied for worst we've had) in a long while...and our "Ace" pitcher is about as far from that as possible on top of Moore being hurt and the bullpen just being a huge pile of meh for the most part that struggles to throw strikes. We gave away 10 free passes and 3 wild pitches in just 6 innings pitching on Saturday. Almost impossible to win doing that.

Pitching would look a lot better if our horrendous defense would actually make plays that pitching is giving them.

Good Grief, the teams problem is not that complicated. When the team is on at the plate, we can win any game, the problem is when they are not due to just a bad approach or a superior pitcher which happens, it's baseball. A team has to be able to win those 3-2, 4-3 games by #1 not walking batters and #2, playing great defense. Unfortunately, this team has a problem with both. The bullpen is shaky and gives up way to many walks and hbp and is an awful defensive team. We have to win games by either just destroying teams, which they can and have or by making a miraculous comeback in the later inning of a game, both of those while fun an exciting is not a very good winning formula for sustained success. These problems won't be fixed this year so we as fans are just going to have to sit back and let this season play out. I'm pretty sure Jay knows that he struck out on the portal players this year and will address this for next years team, I have full faith in his ability to put a winning team together. My Goodness, he's won 2 out of the last 3 CWS and we as fans act like we're in the middle of the 90's football slump.

Agree we have multiple issues and we are just not good enough to overcome any of these mishaps. Very disappointed in our pitchers and our pitch calling strategy. A new strategy and pitch call/location strategy needed. After that the pitchers need to execute. I have never seen so many wild pitches, passed balls and inability to make a full count strike.

THIS! ALL OF THIS! The best way to help pitching is to have a high fielding percentage and high team batting average. A pitcher's worst nightmare are errors in the field that would have produced routine outs. Lots more pitches to make and more outs to make. Many more chances with more base runners on to put runs up against you. Not a good place for a pitcher to thrive.

Everything is bad including the coaching our aggressiveness has been taken away by taking too many pitches. One of the reasons we start every game so slow. Leaving Guidry in has cost us several games. Everyone deserves the blame

Can I remind you of how many times pitchers had the game in control and the field kicks a double play ball, can't catch a strike or whatever else they've done. I'm not saying pitching is not to blame at all, but the fieldling errors have 100% cost us at least a couple SEC games.
