Britain's Defense Secretary is an idiot

Start at 1 minute. Only need to watch 2 to 3 minutes
Posted on 4/8/26 at 9:45 pm to prplhze2000
The people of Great Britain have made their bed by voting in these globalist/leftists into power. Now they get to lay in it.

Cliff notes for those who can’t watch

The UK is done. They can’t even defend themselves, much less help anyone else.

Wow - I knew they were weak, but that was alarming, Britain is in trouble

At least they are morally superior for moving over to bluesky.

UK and others will fall from within. The invaders didn't even need a trojan horse, they were invited by the morally superior but historically stupid inhabitants.

The defense minister doesn't know how many destroyers and frigates the UK has available, but I do. TWO frickING DESTROYERS (HMS Dragon just had to return to port less than two weeks or so after sailing for maintenance issues.) You have holdings from South America (Falklands) to SE Asia, and this is OK???
They have ONE attack submarine. Most of their boomers are in maintenance. Half of the crew of one of their active boomers popped hot for drugs. The UK has fallen.

Key Segments & Points
0:00 – Natasha Clark (LBC Political Editor):
Describes it as "a very difficult week for the government" on defense. Everyone agrees more spending is needed, but there's no clear plan from the Prime Minister on war preparedness, procurement, or funding sources. Healey's interview caused shock in Westminster—he struggled to answer basic questions about the fleet.
Healey Interview Clip Highlights (painful exchange):
Healey claimed the UK has 17 frigates and destroyers (down from 23 at the end of the last Labour government).
He couldn't clearly explain where the ships are (some in operation, deployment, repair, maintenance).
Only one (HMS something) is currently operational in a key area.
He pivoted to pride in the forces' efforts in the Middle East rather than directly addressing the gaps.
5:36 – Lieutenant Colonel Stuart Crawford (Defence Analyst):
Criticizes the claim of 17 frigates/destroyers—says whoever briefed Healey "deserves a clip round the ear" (i.e., it's misleading or wrong). Points out the UK is forced to borrow a German ship next month, which is "shameful." Overall, the fleet is too small.
8:55 – Air Marshal Edward Stringer:
The recent wars have "exposed how thin" UK defenses really are. The UK has been "hiding behind America" on defense for too long (relying on US capabilities).
Broader Context from Host (Nick Ferrari)
UK defense budget: £60 billion.
NHS: £204 billion.
Welfare (including pensions): over £300 billion.
Britain has enjoyed a long "peace dividend" and cheap defense—this needs to change urgently.
The country simply doesn't have enough of a fleet, full stop.

They have completely ceded all of their defense to the American taxpayer. Shameful.

I need to know from most of this board how Bibi and Israel forced this.

Yeah but you know what? I kind of like having some of these countries dependent on us.
Posted on 4/8/26 at 11:11 pm to prplhze2000
Well at least they know he's not a good liar

I think Hegseth runs off at the mouth too much sometimes but I don't think he would have flubbed such an answer or look so weak as this guy did.

It’s kind of amazing how cooked they really are.
I read that in the US, it typically takes 4 to 6 years minimum to commission and build a new destroyer, provided that it is not a first-in-class or prototype build.
Supposedly, in the UK it takes at least 8 to 10 years because of arcane means of production and labor challenges.
So even if they had the money to build a new fleet, which they don’t, they are likely a decade from having a decent first-world navy.
Then there are all the low birth rate and demographic issues over there. Probably not a whole lot of young folks lining up to join the military.
They are helpless.

They’ve never gotten over the spanking we gave them.

There are people on this Board that fervently believe we must keep defending them.
