DeCarlos Brown Jr. has been found “incapable to proceed” on the state murder charge brought against him in the killing of Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska, according to court filings. Brown, a 35-year-old homeless man who previously told police he was diagnosed with schizophrenia, faces both state and federal murder charges in the August light rail stabbing of 23-year-old Zarutska. The results of his capacity evaluation were revealed in a motion his state public defender filed in Mecklenburg Superior Court on Tuesday.

Then execute him. He provides nothing to humanity.

What happens now?
Should mean he’s put down, no?

We aren’t a proper country anymore. Liberalism is a mental illness, and it has taken over.

So then if he’s unable to stand trial, unable to understand right from wrong, why as a civilized society are we keeping this person alive? There is no benefit, and there seems to be no consideration one way or another from a person that isn’t capable of rationale thought, just kill the bitch and remove an additional burden from the world.
Being crazy shouldn’t be a sought after benefit

The problem with our justice system (at least in most states and at the federal level) is someone only has to simply claim insanity.
The burden then shifts to State to prove, beyond a reasonable doubt, that the person is mentally competent.

we don't have a justice system, we have a legal system - not nearly the same thing

At least lock him up until he is capable of proceeding with the trial. He has absolutely proven that he does not belong in society.

Justice is not served consistently in this country.

Seems like a bigger problem that being insane is a defense.
We are all a little bit insane. If you can’t control your actions and want to murder innocent people, I don’t care about your mental state.

Seems to me that anyone who is criminally insane should be put down like a mad dog.

Maybe cubbies will take him in. He just needs a GED. I’m sure she’d open her house to such a nice man
Surely she’s not a giant hypocrite right?

There have been so many moronic posters here that I may forget some but I don’t think I’ve ever seen or noticed one who has been factually wrong on EVERY single thing they’ve posted about like you have.

it's worth noting that this ruling is for the state charges, he also faces federal charges and President Trump has called for the death penalty for him

If my memory is correct about the reporting of the time, this is not shocking.

Eh, not really. At least not in Louisiana.

Also, the legal system has become a racket once again.
