The Oscar thread got me thinking. What movie have you gone to was so bad you left the movie theater before it was over. For me:

The Cheap Detective.

I've never walked out of any, but I have fallen asleep for several. Sometimes it was because they were terrible (Freddie Got Fingered), and sometimes it was just because it was a long arse movie and we went to like the 10 or 11 pm showing and I was exhausted (Saving Private Ryan...twice ).

But I've never just gotten up and left. Although with FGF I likely should have. Man, I hated that movie.

Australia

Me and my wife were dating, I fell asleep, then woke up at some point and noticed she was also asleep, so we got up and left

Only movie I have ever left early, and I've suffered through some terrible movies

Copy-pasting my post from the other thread

I have only done it once (Mortal Kombat Annihilation)

I've see it twice. Both were early showings where old people just apparently picked random movies they knew nothing about

The crowd was so bad I walked out of Bad Boys for Life. I remember nothing about the movie. There's been at least two others I've walked out on, but I don't remember what they were. I nearly walked on 28 years later; the last 3rd of the movie just drug on.

Only movie I strongly considered walking out of was The Love Guru. That is probably the worst movie I've ever seen.

However, I was working for a movie theater at the time and it was the last movie I needed to see to complete a challenge of watching every movie currently running in the theater (harder than you think).

Outside of a skit here and there, I've always thought their comedy was overrated.

I fell asleep and walked out of both "The Fountain" and "The Thin Red Line". Both were long, boring and pretentious..

Van Helsing.

I’ve fallen asleep during several mission impossible movies that I went to late while college aged and also swordfish.

Surprisingly, only walked out of two:

1408
The Village

Two God awful movies which I will continue to say are the two worst.

Fell asleep during Eric Bana's Hulk, and actively made fun of Jeepers Creepers while in the theater. I didn't expect much, but it was worse than I imagined.

Austin Powers.

As an 11 year old I did not get the comedy so we walked out and went into another movie.

About a year or so later a friend rented it from Blockbuster and when I came over to his house the scene where Austin was in the hot tub with Alotta Fagina and her giant boobs was on. I stopped and decided to watch it.

One of my all time favorite comedies now.

My wife and I were way too early for our feature and since the earlier showing hadn't ended yet, we went into another theater to wait it out. So we watch the trailers in the other theater, and then when that movie (some Transformers sequel) starts, we stand up and walk out. As we're walking out the woman behind us says to us, "Jesus Christ, give it a chance!"
