My little girl just turned two. I never imagined the connection that could be formed with a kid until it happened to me. My time with her is never enough. She learns something new every day. Her personality is really starting to show. I can’t even put into words the love I have for her. Props to all the dads out there, and my heart goes out to the ones that have to make the lonely drive home after the dreaded drop-off.

Cherish these times because more than likely at some point you’ll go to bed a hero and wake up a zero.

The mid-teen years aren’t fun. My daughters are finally starting to age out of that window. My souls died a little each day when they were no longer daddy’s girl.

I think that’s just raising a child in general. I have a 3 year old son and everything you said applies too.

I get that. I saw it happen with my nieces. I’m sure those days won’t be fun.

Seems like that was yesterday for me. Before you know it, she will be walking and talking. Crazy how fast it happens.

It is.

Like when you tell them they can't wear sweatpants to school and they yell "Dad I'm on my period!" and run in their room crying.

I have a 2.5 week old daughter and she is the greatest thing in my life. I do not want her to get older.

I have kids aged 27, 18, and 14. My daughter is the oldest (no pics). To me, my daughter was much easier to raise; we lucked out through the preteen and teenage years, she was still cool. My sons, however, have destroyed everything in our house. I'm waiting until they move out to replace anything. I tear up and smile when thinking about my daughter. I want to beat the shite out of my sons nearly every day.

ETA: I'm overexaggerating about my sons for the most part. Overall are good kids.

I took my 5yr old roller skating yesterday and it was awesome. We were both having a blast skating laps with the music.

Then, someone else’s little angel decided to skate the wrong direction. I made a split second decision to avoid pancaking this little girl, my legs shot out from under me, and I landed straight on my back as if I was body slammed. As I laid there, a shell of the man that I was just moments prior, I realized that some kids are stupid assholes, unaware of their surroundings, oblivious to how their bad choices affect others.

But, yes, being a girl dad is special most of the time.

And what they haven't destroyed they've eaten. ALL of it.

Becoming a parent was greatest life gift.

Even better than freshly baked donut and the 1st 7 seconds of Led Zeppelin’s When the Levee Breaks.

Kidding (pun here)!

Truly the best was exactly as you are right now. Fun times! Enjoy.

I have two girls, 19 & 13. I’ll tell anyone I’m a much better teenage mom than I was a little girl mom. I loved the baby years, but this is much more fun, they’re both great kids.

Teach her how men are supposed to treat woman.

Her knowledge of that self respect is the best lesson you can impart on a young girl.

Also, do your damn best to keep her off social media.
