In the best-case scenario, they estimate the dump could absorb about 50 tonnes of carbon over a year, equivalent to the yearly emissions of five average citizens.

I hope I'm long gone when they finally figure out how to take CO2 out of the atmosphere. That's going to suck for all life on the planet.

65K liters is about the size of a mid sized back yard pool.

What 'chemicals'?

Algae captures carbon dioxide.
Seaweed captures carbon dioxide.
Coral captures carbon dioxide.
Seashells capture carbon dioxide.
The formation of limestone CaCO3 captures carbon dioxide.

Let us hope this shite doesn’t affect any of the above.

I suggest the EPA hire more chemists that can do this evaluation with a slide rule and hire less gender studies people

I don't see how it couldn't. EPA needs to clean house.

There was talk at one time to add iron filings to the sea for CO2 capture. I guess nothing ever came of it

Or, just hire a bunch of career chemical company lobbyists.

It’s not like ocean plants need that carbon dioxide to make oxygen for say all of God’s creatures

Same here.

I can just envision some kind of apocalyptic wasteland where they are looking back through a documentary at “what went wrong” and “we just didn’t anticipate”.
