Maverick Tremor vs Ridgeline

If you were choosing a 2023 used "truck," would you go with a Maverick Tremor or a Honda Ridgeline? The Maverick Tremor has 9.4 inches of clearance, factory skid plates, and a 4-cylinder with AWD. The Ridgeline has a V6 with with AWD, but lower clearance at around 7.75 inches.
I’m not looking to tow more than a 15-foot jon boat, so towing capacity isn’t a deciding factor. The choice is basically more off-road capability and clearance with the Tremor versus a more-preferable V6 and a little more comfortable interior with the Ridgeline. Ridgeline is slightly pricier, but the difference is negligible. I'm not looking for serious off-roading, just want to be able to comfortably drive it like a "truck" when opportunities arise.

I own an old Ranger, not the new one, and an Accord. Betwixt these two, I'm taking the Honda.

The maverick is really small.

As you stated the differences being negligible you should go with whichever your husband prefers.

I have a 2024 Ridgeline. I haul my 17 bass tracker with it. It’s an AWD Black Edition. Pulls it out the lake better than my 2500 Silverado used too. Only issue I’ve had is the infotainment system touch screen is terrible. If I’m choosing between a ford and Honda that’s about a .002 nano second call.

Those aren't real trucks
Well, to his credit he did put "trucks" in quotation, so I'm pretty sure he knows that.

Yeah, he’s only 5’ 7”

Out of those two, I’d go with the Ridgeline. If the perk of the maverick is ground clearance that you’ll never need and the perk of the ridgeline is something you’ll notice daily, that should make the decision for you.

"Old boy in a Ridgeline and I drive a Chevy He ain't got no straight pipes, so baby, can you tell me?"

All jokes aside, I’d probably buy Maverick because I like the looks better but that’s probably not a good way to pick a car.

Look into the Nissan Frontier Pro 4X. There are good deals going on now. I’ve seen upwards of $7K+ off sticker.

If that had better rear seat comfort this would probably be my choice. The rear seat is going to be used, often enough on long drives, that the Ridgeline/Maverick’s better rear seat is a difference maker.

The maverick is substantially smaller than the ridgeline OP, price is a good bit off too.
Ridgeline is closer to the ford ranger.

honda is less stylish, but more reliable.
