The worst kept secret in the league, Vegas and Seattle.

Gayle gets her $$$ in franchise fees. We won't be the lucky team that moves to the East.

We will see if she sells after she gets her money and the most obvious relocation cities are off the table.

It also makes having a bad team with good depth idiotic since you will only be able to protect a certain number of players from an expansion draft. Should do a sell off this summer (but won't )

Local media allowed her to skate on her pedophile support, now they have to watch and the two dumbass GM’s run the teams into the ground.

She has zero incentive to sell.

Franchise valuations are only going to continue to rise.

Only way she sells is if she’s tired of the day-to-day (Buss), has a reported separate business venture that’s a conflict of interest (Cuban) or is forced to sell by the league (Sterling)

I think the Twolves are a lock to move to the East, since they are so close to the Great Lakes that it makes logistics sense to pair them with the Bulls and Bucks. I think the other spot comes down to Memphis or us. I would like to see them go to 4 divisions in each conference, so it would look something like this.

East - Atlanta | Miami | New Orleans | Orlando or
West - Dallas | Houston | New Orleans | San Antonio

Where is this pedophile support shite come from? It’s like you dumb fricks don’t know how to read what really happened and go off of misinformation. She never paid for a settlement and helped the archdiocese release the list of names. She donates to the church, yes. But she also donated to the communities and schools around the state. It’s crazy how you dumbasses talk shite about her.

Gayle Benson is an amazing lady but the people around her has failed her honestly. She’s building a new arena, a health complex and trying. It’s Dennis Lauscha that everyone should dislike.

You will never hear Gayle is too cheap and won’t spend compared to other owners . She’s admitted to pay the luxury tax if we were contenders also. Which we aren’t. She’s too kind for her own good.

Emails detail Saints' assistance to New Orleans Archdiocese in sexual abuse scandal

So why won’t she fire them? Why hide the emails??

quote:

The records, which the Saints and church had long sought to keep out of public view, reveal team executives played a more extensive role than previously known in a public relations campaign to mitigate fallout from the clergy sexual abuse crisis. The emails shed new light on the Saints' foray into a fraught topic far from the gridiron, a behind-the-scenes effort driven by the team's devoutly Catholic owner who has long enjoyed a close relationship with the city's embattled archbishop.

quote:

Among the key moments, as revealed in the Saints' own emails: • Saints executives were so involved in the church's damage control that a team spokesman briefed his boss on a 2018 call with the city's top prosecutor hours before the church released a list of clergymen accused of abuse. The call, the spokesman said, "allowed us to take certain people off" the list. • Team officials were among the first people outside the church to view that list, a carefully curated, yet undercounted roster of suspected pedophiles. The disclosure of those names invited civil claims against the church and drew attention from federal and state law enforcement. • The team's president, Dennis Lauscha, drafted more than a dozen questions that Archbishop Gregory Aymond should be prepared to answer as he faced reporters. • The Saints' senior vice president of communications, Greg Bensel, provided fly-on-the-wall updates to Lauscha about local media interviews, suggesting church and team leaders were all on the same team. "He is doing well," Bensel wrote as the archbishop told reporters the church was committed to addressing the crisis. "That is our message," Bensel added, "that we will not stop here today." The emails obtained by AP sharply undercut assurances the Saints gave fans about the public relations guidance five years ago when they asserted they had provided only "minimal" assistance to the church. The team went to court to keep its internal emails secret

Well I'm sure you have evidence to back up your claims, other wise it could very well be defamation.

You should discuss this with the DA and her lawyers so we can settle this matter.

After the AP first reported on the alliance in early 2020, Saints owner Gayle Benson denied that anyone "associated with our organizations made recommendations or had input" on the list of pedophile priests.

The Saints reiterated that denial in their statement Saturday, saying no Saints employees "had any responsibility for adding or removing any names from that list." The team said that no employees offered "any input, suggestions or opinions as to who should be included or omitted from" the list.

Literally from your article.

quote:

His recommendations were consistent with the Archdiocese which included: be honest, complete and transparent,” her statement said. “We are proud of the role we played and yes, in hindsight, we would help again to assist the Archdiocese in its ability to publish the list with the hope of taking this step to heal the community.”

quote:

“To suggest that I would offer money to the Catholic Church for anything related to the clergy molestation issue sickens me,” she wrote.

Like I said she’s too good for her own good. Lauscha and Bensel might have been the snakes for all we know.

Vegas and Seattle will both be in the West. That means the East would have 2 fewer teams. So the Twolves and Us/Memphis would have to move to even it out.

Seattle deserves the SuperSonics back. They never should have left for OKC and just had OKC be an expansion team.i’m sure Seattle is ready to provide a brand new arena like they refused which made them leave for OKC in the first place.

not how it works:
currently 30 teams. 15 West 15 East
Add 2 teams to the West: 17 W 15 E
Easy addition/subtraction, only 1 team move from W to E to make it 16 W 16E

My 12 year old son figured this out in 3 seconds on his own.

Math, dude. You are forgetting to subtract the one team from the West that is moving to the East.

Minnesota or Memphis are the obvious choices, I would go with Minnesota to the "East"

You would then create 2 divisions within a conference of 8 and 8 rather than 3 divisions of 5, 5, and 6.

Adding Seattle & Las Vegas would create the West:
"Pacific" Division:
1. Seattle
2. Portland
3. San Fran/GS
4. Sacramento
5. LAL
6. LAC
7. Las Vegas
8. Phoenix

"Southwest" Division:
1. Utah
2. Denver
3. Oklahoma
4. Dallas
5. Houston
6. San Antonio
7. New Orleans
8. Memphis

The East would be
"Central" Division:
1. Minnesota
2. Milwaukee
3. Chicago
4. Indiana
5. Detroit
6. Toronto
7. Cleveland
8. Atlanta (this is an odd one sorry)

"Atlantic" Division:
1. Boston
2. Brooklyn
3. New York
4. Philadelphia
5. Washington
6. Charlotte
7. Miami
8. Orlando

Expand to 84 games:
4 games within the division = 28 games
3 games in the conference = 24 games
2 games in the other conference = 32 games

There’s already a push for less games.

They would probably cut it to 3/2/2 and cut down to 71 games

Gayle isn't selling the team. This is the laziest take I've seen on this board. She literally has no reason to sell when she's constantly making a profit how it's doing.

You’re not seeing the forest through the trees. These are two lucrative markets that are being taken off the table for a doomsday Pelicans relocation. This news just makes it harder for the Pelicans to leave, not that they’re really in danger right now.
