Coffee/breakfast
Workout
House project
Start tax return / some finance planning
Watch TBN Netflix series
Make love to wife

This is my plan until I die (have not yet shared with her!).

Throw in football travel in Fall, big trip now and again, and physical test (mtn hike, road race, etc).

What am I missing?

Get a hobby. Something low stress to still hold you accountable and keep your brain active.

Don't. Women love surprises and spontaneity.

I spent the first day of my retirement driving in the left lane on the interstate below the speed limit with my turning signal on permanently. It was the first item on my bucket list.

Congratulation on retirement. I’m on month 8 and it’s even better than I had imagined. My immediate goals were to get bored out of my mind, catch up on some movies and lose track of what day of the week it is. I’ve been very successful thus far.

Congratulations. I echo the theme of finding a hobby that engages your brain. My great grandfather turned his garage into a woodworking shop, making furniture and toys. He built my first rocking horse. My grandfather gardened and fished. He made the best jalapeno cornbread. My dad fished and played the stock market. I plan to write fiction and dabble in photography.

Learn a new hobby. A language, a musical instrument, etc.

keep the brain stimulated with a new, but fun, challenge from time to time

Make an effort to be social with other folks.

Whether it’s other retirees or volunteering somewhere, studies have shown that a decent amount of human interaction is important for positive mental health.

Intercourse with your wife (pics?) doesn’t count as interaction.

I'm only 21-28 months away from retiring from full-time employment myself (I'm 52)....although my department has a part-time program that I may do for a few years just to ward off the boredom. I would choose the days that I work with a maximum of 1,000 hours/year. I'm single and my youngest will have graduated, so I'm looking forward to embracing a life of material minimalism.

Reminds me of my first day. I left my exit interview and went to the gym for several hours. Was my perfect first day of retirement.
