Former LSU president Willam Tate and former deputy AD Keli Zinn took over there. Good hires if you want to fix athletics, but going to be tough to fix that mess.

Reading the story, it is all pretty normal stuff. They are spending a lot to compete but aren't seeing the ticket sales and fundraising efforts to support. They only raised $8m or something last year which is insanely low. It says in the article the big10 averages $39M. That's their problem and the fact that they aren't winning in anything.

I'm sure the conference has strongly encouraged them to have facilities and staffing at a certain level because they can't have a conference team looking bummy. You gotta spend to look like you belong.

You mean, THE State University of New Jersey is debt ridden? Shocking. Surely, the state government would bail out their state university considering how important a college degree is and it not just being another way to indebt young adults to the government.
