Mine: Tom Petty

Was on my list. Life had other plans. My loss!

Led Zeppelin 1975
Started partying in the afternoon before the concert. Got into the assembly center and sat down in the concourse area before the show. Woke up and everybody was leaving.
What a bummer.

Was going to see Van Morrison at Jazzfest around 20 years ago. But it was raining cats and dogs and a guy I knew who'd seen him before insisted he wasn't worth the money or effort.

I let him talk me out of it, though if it hadn't been raining I would have gone anyway

Black Sabbath

Also had a chance to see Dio, but stayed home to study for a midterm instead, which I really didn’t. Big mistake.

I drove my family 6 hours to Dallas to see Van Morrison 15 years ago. He announced as he started playing that he didn’t dig his old music any more so he wouldn’t be playing any of it. We didn’t know or like what he did play. It was not worth it at all.

When I was a broke LSU student 30+ years ago I had the chance to see Alex Chilton at the Chimes. I actually had the $7 for a ticket, but I didn't want to go alone and no one wanted to go with me. Nobody I knew had ever heard of him.

The Chimes apparently felt no one in all of BR had heard of him either, as their poster did not mention his connection to Big Star (whom I'd never heard at that point) or even The Box Tops, but rather the fact that The Replacements had written a song about him.

Ex-wife's father had tickets to BB King/SRV at the Starwood Amphitheatre back in the late '80's. He couldn't go and offered them to us for free. She called me at work and I declined, because I was tired and didn't feel like driving to Nashville.

Mistakes were made...

I have watched the show on yt, and it pisses me off every time I see it.

Bill Monroe and the Bluegrass Boys played at a county auditorium near my grandparents' farm when I was in college over Christmas break.

Did stupid college boy stuff instead.

I always rather regretted not going to see Cab Calloway when he was appearing in Austin at the Paramount Theater, back in the 1980s. I had planned a trip back home that weekend, and really couldn't change my plans very easily.

Probably going to see Elvis in Lake Charles. But I was young and didn't think Elvis was cool. My parents went and took my younger brother and sister but they didn't really have a clue they were so young. I was old enough to stay by myself and I chose that over seeing Elvis.
