Seeing what Beck was able to do to that secondary, Burrow would have thrown for his usual 375+ and 4+ TDs. LSU would have hung 40+ on them.

Only question is does Indiana get the early season, injury filled defense or the late season defense. If they get the early season they score 28+. Late season they score 20 or so.

Burrow throws for 300 plus and would have run for a bunch.

Chambliss would’ve given Indiana fits. They were able to sit back and take away the deep ball because Beck was no threat to run whatsoever.

19’ LSU would have beat the brakes off Indiana and everybody this year. It was such a down year talent wise across the board especially in the SEC unfortunately. Maybe NIL is spreading the talent all over, maybe the kids don’t want to play as hard anymore, idk the cause but ball ain’t the same as it was just a few years ago. There are recent Alabama defenses that would have made Mendoza and that Indiana run game look very pedestrian.

All of these teams are inferior. Been saying this. It’s a different era now. Not as much depth. Players are not as developed. Inferior product. Period. Congrats to them but we all know.

I agree but I don’t mind it. Pro sports has it set up so dynasties are difficult. With NIL, it will be the same. I don’t mind the parity, but it also means don’t compare. LSU won every award, their dudes in the NFL are superstars. Indiana has actually very little talent. Cig is a great coach, but they relied on 23 year old linemen and other teams making mistakes

This game would have been a 49-17 type game. Clemson had Lawrence Higgins and Etienne and we beat them by 17….cmon

No offense to Indiana but comparing them to '19 LSU is absurd. Forget about '19 LSU, just look at the schedule from that year and there's three or four teams that would give Indiana problems. Hell if garbage Penn State almost beat them then I'm sure 2019 Clemson, UGA, OU, and bama would be a handful.

2019 was a much stronger year in terms of the top teams and LSU had to beat 6 of the top 13 teams in the final rankings. Indiana had to beat Ohio State and that's about it. They didn't have to run a gauntlet like '19 LSU.

Yep exactly this, all that what you typed is correct. We are seeing the effects of how money changes things.

Clemson was the #1 defense going into the championship game and hadn't lost a game in 2 seasons. Miami was a 2 loss team.

LSU put up over 600 yards on the Clemson D and mercy knee'd with a chance to score again.

UGA was a 1 loss team with the #2 defense and in the 3rd qtr with LSU up 34-3, O called off the dogs and went conservative.

And OU? LSU could have scored 80 but settled for 63.

LSU won its final 6 games by an average of 30 points. Once they got rolling at the end of the season it was over. They remain the undisputed.

And we took a knee at the 5 yard line.

And also, let's be honest: If it wasn't b/c of that under throw INT pass in the last minute or so, IU would have lost 28-27.

IMO, Canes offense got a little impatient right at the end. They could have thrown pass screens at the corners for potential out of bounds to stop the clock.

When did it not become good enough to not only win the national championship, but become the first team since the 1800's(!!!) to go 16-0?

Now every team that wins it all has to be the greatest team in the history of the world or it doesn't count?

Stingely was top 20. Patrick Queen was in there somewhere in the top 100 too.

A blocked punt and a missed FG were the difference in the game. If not for that we could be talking about a different outcome. This team is not even in 2019 LSU league.

We live in a world of constant hyperbole and "the best ever" is an easy talking/debate point because it's incapable of being determined with certainty.

Thats awesome. Coming from a Penn State guy feeling the need to say that is great. It bebefits him none to say this other than to slap down his Big10 rival.
