I have 5 children one in the way (due in 3 weeks) I have a barrel racer (15yo) travel hockey player (10yo) travel softball player (8yo) 5yo and 2yo my hockey player is already getting scouted and with travel sports being the way they are about school I am concerned for his education.

I have been very very chillaxed with our homeschooling, too relaxed in my opinion and now I feel guilt and feel like I am failing all of them. I pulled my oldest out of public school when she was going into second grade and deschoooled her and I and then just unschooled then the rest of my children I have unschooled I have done workbooks here and there and some stuff time reading eggs etc but never consistent.

With our busy life now it’s making it harder to keep up with everyone’s learning and I’m tired of feeling this way. My 15yo wil be 16 this new year and tells me she’s stupid and doesn’t know simple math like counting money and she doesn’t feel comfortable getting a job, the pressure my hockey player and soft baller player gets from their teammates/society with them questioning them on math problems or how to spell this or that is real and my children feel stupid.

I just feel like I have failed. That being said I did get an accredited online curriculum (Miacademy) for my travel children since the sports life is so focused on gpa etc. I anted to see if anyone recommended an accredited curriculum that they have their children/child doing and or is in the same boat as me with the whole travel sports thing.

Just be patient with them. I’m sure professional barrel racing will pay off one day.

Maybe it’s genetics and they are naturally stupid due to parental low iq?

You can't put together a fully formed sentence and you thought it was a good idea to homeschool your kids?

They better be good at sports!

This sounds like either a joke or a nightmare.

We did travel baseball but limited it to DFW, with that said it could be an hour and 1/2 to tournaments.

But we were always close enough to drive home.

We had several times where we had to play at 8 am on Sunday so we would leave at 6 am, drive 1 1/2 hours, get beat and drive 1 1/2 hours back home

5 kids, 1 on the way
16 year age difference
10yo being scouted
Homeschooled
Kids are getting bullied by other travel ball kids because they can't read

Solid troll or tragic real life?

firstly, you are doing great Momma! you really saved your kids by pulling them out of public schools ala propaganda farms and unschooling them from the liberal agenda

they dont need all that learning they get most of that from you and i can tell you are doing a great job

keep them in the sports that will guide them with the rest of there lives

Thanks girl

It’s hard but I know it will all payoff in the end. I can’t imagine passing up this time with my babies so they can be indoctrinated by government schools

2 kids. 12yo travel volleyball Jan - April. 9yo soccer but we only travel once per quarter.

The kicker is the team / parents. I thoroughly enjoy hanging out with them and I like to go to Dallas so its usually a win/win.

Mine does competitive cheer. She has shite all over the damn place. She's almost 16 now. I hope she outgrows it soon and just focuses on academics. There's not future in this except stacking up injuries.
