Do You wish we would have kept Shaheed now?

Depends on what he demands in FA.

The move to trade Shaheed was 100% about getting something before he leaves in FA

He’s a gadget player. We need a lot more help than what he could offer for the contract he will likely command.

No. He’s a 3. I know Olave is playing really well, but he’s a 2 and as good as he is now, he’d be insane with a legit 1 on this roster.

Shaheed is going to get a decent contract and he deserves it. Maybe it’s with us?

Depends on what his contract demands will be
. As of right now I think we did well getting value for him before he left

No. Chances are that pick gets used to move around in the draft and hopefully pick up another weapon.

At the pace he was on for us in a contract year, it would have cost us quite a bit to retain him. And while I really like him, the option was really deciding to pay a more consistent Olave or the more boom or bust Shaheed.

We definitely need to look for another game breaker like him now, but at a more cost effective price.

Now if he had been performing like he has since going to the Seahawks, that price might have been a bit more reasonable.

I’m just curious what he gets in free agency since a few posters on here were pretty confident he will get 25 million a year which I think is absurd.

Anything more than 15 per is probably an overpay

$25 mil per seems pretty absurd, if that's what people were saying, but $16 mil per easy was what he was on track for before the trade, maybe up to $20 mil per if he got better with Shough (which he was on track to do if you look at the game logs).

He won't get less than $12 mil per even with the huge downturn in Seattle, unless this is a loaded WR class (I haven't looked at that yet).

Call me crazy but I’m willing to sacrifice for a chance to get AJ Brown out of Philadelphia. He wants out and they want him out. We can find a way. He’s from Mississippi he’d love to get closer to home.

No. This was a great trade for the Saints

They need multiple offensive pieces. It would be different if he were the 1 missing piece

A few posters said he would get 25 mil a year? That's insane.

My guess is 10-12 a year.

Nah hes a one trick pony. Not a true WR. Seattle has 2 good WRs (one is washed - Kupp) and yet Shaheed only sees the field on like 20% of their snaps.

Mickey killed it this year

We picked up 4th and 5th rounders for an UDFA. That’s a hell of a ROI.

Interesting idea. I guess if we could get him for low compensation to Philly it might be a good risk

Kind of, but I'm ok either way. We needed draft capital and he wasn't going to be on a rookie deal anymore.

We actually got the best of all worlds because the fire sale got us badly needed picks for guys who were going to walk, and then we improved anyway.

Ill get downvoted for this, but Olave is a slot guy. Shaheed took that away, because thats the only role he could fit. We really need another 1, and wild as this is, Vele as the 2, Olave in the slot.

Get me a true 1 in the draft as our first pick, and guard with our 2nd round and we should golden on offense minus a TE. We need to start replacing our aging defense quickly though.
