Why don't we just shut down all forms of welfare and force everyone to re-apply?

The only way to prevent this shite from happening is for the agencies that hand out the money to do proper due diligence.

The more I read about this Minnesota fraud, the more pissed off I get.

That’s obviously racist. If people aren’t expected to have ID to vote, why should they have to re-register for government benefits. Same logic, eh?

Does that include ethanol / money for farmers and non-essential
government jobs?

Why?

It doesn't have to be done in such a way as to cause anyone who is legitimately eligible to experience a break in benefits.

That is obviously an awesome idea. As a matter of fact, in order to get your next benefit of any kind, you must present yourself and reapply.

Heck, give everyone a small bonus and it would still be a drop in the bucket compared to the fraud that would be eliminated through reapplication.

That’s a fantastic idea, doubt it happens though

I’d go a step further and make EVERYONE reapply every year to justify why they still need it…

It would likely end up being a net loss, much like most of the DOGE nonsense.

Bil Clinton actually initiated real welfare reform, but subsequent administrations(mostly Republican) failed to see it through...

I think it’s a state by state thing.

Like reapplying for snap every 6 or 12 months.

In order to force it, we shut them down all at the same time, open new departments with new rules, have them all reapply to the new agencies with new rules. Profit.

It would overwhelm the system if done the way Trump usually does things …ready, fire, (don’t bother to) aim.

But you COULD do it if spread over a year or so.
