Are all these OL being processed, or are they just chasing money?

I fail to see how the various members of the worst OL in LSU history are deluded enough to think that some other school is going to pay them a lot of money to play. So what’s up?
Is Lane telling them to leave? Without having their replacements lined up?
Thanks.

No one knows. Probably a mixture of both. Some guys are probably being told they that they don't have a spot, some guys are probably looking at reduced NIL money, some guys just might not have had a good experience at LSU and want a fresh start.

It sounds like they are trying to get Curne to stay potentially but the rest definitely were told to hit the road or had reduced NIL or didnt get what they wanted NIL wise to stay.

The staff and position coach that signed them are no longer at LSU. Plus, simply entering in the portal doesn't necessarily mean they can't remain at LSU. It's essentially telling other schools they are willing to listen to offers.
Unless the new staff has come to them and said "you are out starting (OL position) next year", why not test free agency and explore your options? Ultimately, LSU may be the best option. But it's not a big deal to at least consider others.

I suspect they know they have a target on their backs as the worst position group on the team, so are both testing the waters on landing spots and NIL values before they are undoubtedly asked to take less $ in order to stay.

Just glad to see Chester and Mubenga hit the portal. They don’t deserve to be on a D1 roster.

They were told that they were going to get less money. I don’t think these decisions are the kids except for Curne

probaly asked to have their NIL reduced or risk getting processed
not sure what each received but no doubt they weren’t worth whatever it was

A new staff comes in & determines that the worst unit on the field is the OL. "Take less $$$$ or see ya " approach to roster mgt. not hard to figure out. In his last recruiting year at O.Miss CLK brought in 30 portal players. CBK brought in 9.

Their OL coach is being kicked down the road so I’m sure he has told them their jobs are at risk. Everyone knows the OL was the big problem so it obvious they will all be replaced in the portal. Or maybe the new coach introduced himself and wished them all good luck wherever they end up.

Chasing money?
These guys?
My guess is processed.

Not really sure how a group as bad as this one could remotely think it could chase money.

Curne has a lot of upside but he is NOT a tackle. The rest can hit the road. They had zero physicality or interest

There is no way imo Cune, Tyree, or even Echols were told to leave. Especially Cune he’s got more potential than any lineman we have & just turned 19yrs old.

go fishing, and let Joey Saltwater handled the portal.

It’s probably a combination of the two, honestly. What I noticed with LK during his time with Ole Miss is that he’s very in tune with the market value for players based on quality and position. I’d venture to say some aren’t up to standard and some want more than what the market would dictate based on their level of production.

All these guys hitting the portal are not getting what they wanted to stay (NIL). They are doing evals on everyone and letting them know what they're worth; I'm sure some of the Olinemen they are saying you are worth nothing based on how you played so you get bottom $. Curne is going to command some money so he probably didnt like his "renewal", but may also be finding out what we are offering is similar to others. They seem to be trying to get him back and the door seems to be open there, maybe with another guy too.
Adams was not good this year and I dont see coming back. I cant imagine his NIL offer was worth much as a 3rd year player who wasnt good by any shape of the imagination and why he hit the road.
I can tell you this, every single one of these olinemen are not hard to replace via the portal outside of Moore and hopefully he does come back. Literally nobody played at the median level of an SEC Olineman this year except Moore (well above it, towards the top in fact) and Thompson who was right at the median for an SEC Olineman. Nobody else was even close to the median SEC Olineman (7 other guys). You can find better players in the portal.
Doesnt mean some of these young guys like Curne, Echols, etc...cant have a good career somewhere; but we arent going to overpay to get them to stay either in hope they will get much better when we could spend that kind of money on a bodafide good starter from elsewhere who has proven their worth. Thats ultimately what it comes down to. Curne might be a very good player, but we dont know that for sure yet and if we think he's worth $500k and he thinks he's worth say $750k+ then that money can buy us a pretty good portal starter, then spend that $750k there instead on a proven player.
