Former ESPN reporter Jemele Hill has shared a controversial take on the firing of Michigan coach Sherrone Moore.

Moore, a married father-of-three, was arrested on Wednesday over an alleged assault after he was dismissed by Michigan for an 'inappropriate relationship' with a staffer.
quote:

It later emerged that Moore was accused of attacking a woman with a knife after stalking her for months and that he was 'suicidal' after losing his job. Despite the scandalous details that have continued to emerge from Moore's arrest, Hill, a contributor for The Atlantic, blamed his firing from Michigan on his race. In a post on Instagram Threads, Hill suggested that Moore was facing harsher judgement over the scandal due to being a black coach.
quote:

She wrote: 'Though I think Sherrone Moore is a cornball, before we start painting his firing, Mel Tucker's and Ime Udoka's as some kind of indictment of Black male coaches, let me remind you of the following names: Hugh Freeze, Bobby Petrino, Rick Pitino, Mike Price, among others.

Race baiting garbage “journalist” race baits again.

Since she wants to make it about race, there are shitty people of all races.

The issue is proportionality.

Look, she is a retarded person

But she isn’t claiming that Moore’s firing was based on race. She is basically claiming “white people do it too”

Nobody is painting Sherrone Moore's firing as an indictment against black coaches except for the race baiters like Jemele and Ryan Clark. Every normal person paints it as an indictment against Sherrone Moore and him alone.

I mean his actions of cheating on his wife, dating a staffer, and impregnating (allegedly) are in the same sphere at least as freeze and petrino. But the forced abortion (allegedly), stalking, assault, B&E, and potentially death threats is pretty crazy to compare to any of those.

None of the white coaches she mentioned haven't done anything of relevance since they screwed up.

Didn't all of these coaches lose their jobs in very humiliating and public ways? I don't remember anyone going easy on these guys.

So in other words she is making zero point. Other notable opinion pieces of hers: "Daycare centers function better when not on fire" and "Walking Comfortably: The merit of putting a right shoe on the right foot and a left shoe on the left foot."

Jemele Hill has gotten a lot better than she used to be, but she still says outrageous things from time to time.
