Every now and then I'll see something that is obviously fake and if you click on the AI summary it just hallucinates some nonsense to claim that the obvious fake stuff is real. You would think it would cross reference via a simple web search or something

The amount of investment that they're making in AI to have such a sloppy product is interesting to say the least

I'll contend that AI hasn't actually passed the Turing test.

I don't think it has either

Some of it is impressive but I see a lot of flaws that are pretty apparent

The amount of stuff it just makes up is comical

This board is regularly fooled by it - and I mean some pretty obvious fakes, too.

It's quite easy to spot in its current state.

Because it’s not actually AI, it’s a great internet search engine.

49 isn't like 79 though

Needs to stay that way. We don't need machines to totally take over the task of using our brains.

Grok is the only AI that’s consistently given me good results. ChatGPT has created entire imaginary realities for me

Well I’ve got some bad news for you.

arXiv link
quote:

Moreover, GPT-4.5-PERSONA achieved a win rate that was significantly above chance in both studies. This suggests that interrogators were not only unable to identify the real human witness, but were in fact more likely to believe this model was human than that other human participants were. This result, replicated across two populations, provides the first robust evidence that any system passes the original three-party Turing test.

A 50% win rate would “pass” the three-party Turing test, as it would mean that participants were unable to distinguish between the AI and another human. GPT-4.5’s win rate was 73%.

That means that when asked to identify the human between GPT-4.5 and another actual human, nearly 3/4 of participants said that GPT-4.5 was human and said that the actual human was AI.

The AI critics in here are in denial.

The rate of improvement is astonishing. The errors are meaningless in the big picture.

Take the changes we have seen in the last 30 years due to the Internet and imagine even greater change compressed into the next 36 months.

People eat the shite up

Saw one today.. it was that Pete Golding took the Michigan job … and so many people commented like “ WOWWWW” and “good for him”

They think everything is true . It’s so sad

Yes… yes they are that gullible in general; that, or too trusting of the system.

Is it really AI or someone posting stuff for clicks and likes as clickbait and using AI to generate deceptive imagery.
