Really it’s what I call the “Bondo Economy”, the powers that be just slapped Bondo on the economy via ZIRP and infinity browns to create fake consumer demand. The blame is on big corporations that employ them, tacitly approve their existence, or otherwise profit off of them.
Casi in point: the Consumer Staples sector has taken a beating lately. All the articles are boohooing about “nobody can even afford toothpaste, oh no!!” But in reality, think about it: if 15M+ people show up in a few short years with nothing but the clothes on their back, what do they do? Buy a shitload of products! Same applies to apartments, automobiles, clothing, etc.
The economy isn’t “crashing” as much as it’s drifting back towards actual reality.

My pan of store bought cinnamon rolls BURST into flames within 2 minutes of putting it into the oven. Had to quite literally dump the pan out on the driveway.
The oven was on the lowest setting… :wtf:
Granted these were store bought rolls and probably full of petrochemicals, so I am taking this as a sign from God that I didn’t need that stuff anyway.
