Statement from LSU coach Lane Kiffin on Charlie Weis coaching Ole Miss during the playoffs….

“With the playoff committee releasing updated rankings tonight, I wanted it to be known that after conversations with LSU, we are allowing Charlie to return to Ole Miss to coach the team during the playoffs. I've already made the committee aware of this and I’m hopeful this decision will allow Ole Miss to receive the highest ranking possible because these great players are very deserving of that. I’m excited that Charlie will be back to help coach the greatest team in the history of Ole Miss.”

Lane Kiffin is bending over backwards to help Ole Miss even after the way they treated him when he told them he was leaving. I'm impressed.

Don't let anyone tell you that Kiffin is still the old Kiffin. He's changed a lot, and for the better.

Lane is a good guy. I’m not sure why he’s even concerned though because apparently all he and Weis did was “call a few plays”. Why would the committee even care ?

Can we just send Mark Wahlberg to Oxford instead? Maybe they won’t notice?

agreed 100%. when OM fans were saying go watch that E60 doc, he aint going nowhere, i decided to watch it.

i took from it 2 things.

1 - he has matured a lot and definitely puts family first and a high value on family now

2 - nothing in there led me to believe he was sold on oxford the rest of his coaching days.

Maybe Wahlberg can handle the recruiting while Charlie is up in Oxford poaching?

We need some fans to show up at the airport and shout “good luck, Charlie” at him as he hops on yet another plane, just to show what swell folk we are.

Favorably? This is simply more evidence of him being a godforsaken degenerate.

The prideful decision was excommunicating any staff that wanted to leave.

A reasoned decision was they need to give their team a shot at the best chance to attain a title that they've had in 50 years.

They were toast with no O staff remaining. They tried to save them from going but it didn't work, and now we're here.
