Why do people keep saying Kiffin will eventually leave LSU for Bama?

He can accomplish the same thing here as he can in Tuscaloosa. Why is anyone pretending like that's a better job with more resources or better recruiting? It makes absolutely no sense to me. Am I missing something?

Bama must really hate their coach. Or their coach really hates their fanbase.

I would bet big money that Kiffin will never be head coach at Alabama...

People who know Bama say they would never pursue Kiffin anyways after his stint there. I am sure things change if he is successful here, but I dont think it is some foregone conclusion there would eb any mutual interest.

I know I’m biased in this, and while Bama is probably a better job than LSU, I really don’t think the difference is that big. They have a more storied history but there’s nothing intrinsic about the program in the year 2025 that makes it easier to win at than lsu. Similar money, recruiting base, coaches salary, stadium size, etc.

Bama football=LSU Baseball. Both historic powers. Alabama and maybe Texas are the only 2 programs that may appeal to him.

How much of this is coming from his wife living in Tuscaloosa and having to put up with the locals?

The only worry I have with Kiffin is the NFL after he wins a title or two here.
His ego doesn’t want to follow Saban and Bear and be under their shadow. This man wants a statue of himself at a major program and LSU is that shot.

here's my take.
if he's not successful here, he likely wouldn't be there.
if he's successful here, whats the point the of going there?
he could be the guy after the guy at bama, or he could be his own legacy at LSU.

Wow, that’s impressive if Chicken is saying this. That carries some weight.

Dude stop worrying about this. It makes us look weak. If that time comes we will deal with it then. LSU will match its a matter of what he wants. I think he wants a Saban type legacy if thats the case he stays here. Less years spent rebuilding means more opportunities to win it all. Plus he wont diminish Nick's legacy at Bama in the process in other words he gets be the Nick Saban of LSU. Death Valley with Lane Kiffin field type thing. Enjoy today and stop worrying about future. Nick was right our fans always have the sky is falling mentality. LSU is about to go on a huge run! Enjoy the ride!

LSU is a college football destination , like Alabama , Georgia , Ohio State . There is no interstate competition for players and you have fertile recruiting ground . The fan base is supportive and reasonable . They wont burn your house down if you lose a game .

Nothing would be shocking with Kiffin. Just hope he capitalizes on our resources and gets us another national championship. If he leaves after being successful, so be it. It's who we wanted and we know his track record.

Agreed. Bama had a historic run with Saban, but now that he's retired, we're more or less on equal footing. Both schools are historic powers, Bama admittedly more so, but they have to deal with Auburn in their state, and we're the only Power 4 school in Louisiana, so it balances out.

Chicken is spot on. He will never be at Bama. Too much water under that bridge. Plus his schtick doesn’t play well there. The NFL is the threat, but again, it is going to have to be the right owner. Not many would tolerate his social media posts or comments. Very corporate approach there and Lane is not corporate ….yet.

Bama is one of the few better jobs.
He’s coached there.
Having said that, I don’t know if he’s go to a Bama. It would depend on whether he’s accomplishing what he wants at LSU.
He can leave a legacy at LSU that he can’t at Bama. It’s been done before at Bama.

You could almost argue that the pressure is greater in Tuscaloosa, only because they're still stuck with the expectations of every single year nattys for the most part. Yes, LSU has significant pressure to win it all, but we are used to the gaps between ours, we are more concerned with staying in the run and not having 6-6 & 7-5 seasons, we want to stay atop the SEC and be competitive as hell
