There is a realistic chance that no matter how this plays out future openings will approach the idea of Kiffin with an abundance of caution and skepticism, at least for a while.

No doubt, but in this case I think the idea is correct, even if the emotion is way too high. If Kiffin stays at Ole Miss after all this based on a last-second emotional gut check, I'm not sure how you can take him seriously in the future.

His only path would be a jump to the NFL . . . which may be where his heart was all along. Anyway, LSU should put an end to this right now. Waiting until Sunday to hear this rumor confirmed would be stupid.
