Trump looked foolish, the reporter was right.
Trump wants to shut her down because she brought up something most people are likely not aware of. Trump's own DOJ did an investigation earlier this year the FBI’s vetting process for Afghan evacuees after the 2021 withdrawal was effective, though initial screening had challenges. You can read the report here.
The fact that the shooter had been vetted by the FBI likely factored into the decision by the Trump administration to grant him asylum in April.
