The report was released by Trump's DOJ. It goes into detail about the vetting process. The flights did not go direct to the U.S. but to transit site were evacuees would wait for weeks, sometimes months, to get cleared.
quote:
At transit sites, DHS, DOD, DOS, and other federal agencies conducted processing, screening, and vetting. Intelligence, law enforcement, and counterterrorism professionals, including from the FBI, conducted the screening and vetting.
Once they were cleared to go to the U.S. they were vetted again
quote:
DHS’s Customs and Border Protection (CBP) conducted primary inspections of Afghan nationals upon arrival at a U.S. airport. CBP conducted secondary inspections as the circumstances required.
The Trump DOJ report then goes into detail about the FBI's additional vetting and the experts that did it.
quote:
These responsibilities were assigned to four primary FBI elements: the Terrorist Screening Center (TSC) Operations Branch, the Information Management Division (IMD), the Counterterrorism Division (CTD), and the Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Division.7
They then describe the roles of each element and DHS' role tracking and moderating.
Trump's on DOJ says the claim of "no vetting" is false, no wonder he was so triggered.

More liberal lies from Bama Mountain.
I wish I could say I’m surprised. These people are sick in the head folks and cult followers.
Do you have any FACTS to show that Mountain is lying? Some of us are just interested in the truth.
Reality is neither liberal nor conservative.

Mountain, do you know what law the President was referring to that made granting asylum virtually mandatory?
I have no idea what he is referring to.
I know the Biden administration rejected 90% of Afghan parole requests. Trump pulled TPS for Afghans a while ago.
Maybe he is referring to the Afghan Adjustment act, but that has not been passed yet.

Break down the process by which he would’ve been denied asylum.

Thank you for all the information. If you don't mind, how are you so familiar with all this?

No he didn't....because he is a "stupid person".

This might be what Trump is referring to:
https://www.uscis.gov/policy-manual/volume-6-part-h-chapter-9
quote:
Section 602(b) of the Afghan Allies Protection Act of 2009 (AAPA),[1] created a new special immigrant category for Afghan nationals who worked for or on behalf of the U.S. government in Afghanistan. The President signed the AAPA into law on March 11, 2009.

Around here, a request for factual information in support of Trump claims is like the effect of turning on a light upon cockroaches.
They scatter for the shadows.

I wish we could just have tags that read either:
-"Just here to feel better about what I already believe. Don't bother discussing facts with me."
Versus
-"I don't know everything. Here's what I think. What do you know that I don't know...and how do you know that?"
It would save so much time.

Trump looked foolish, the reporter was right.
If you buy your premise, then you buy your bit.
But it’s a dumb premise. The vetting process was shite. And it can’t be good. It’s Afghanistan. Not the United States.
And the argument from the (sensible) anti-immigration folks is that there’s no need to bring those folks here. It was throwing good money after bad.
There were always going to be bad apples in those imported. There can’t not be. That’s just the nature of what we did. This was always going to be a result of it. Maybe not in this dramatic of a fashion.
But it’s increased welfare. It’s increased non-western thought. It’s increased non-Christian values. It’s increased propensity for misogynistic behavior. And increased likelihood of terrorist behavior.
It’s a simple question of likelihood. Dumb fricking progs want to pretend likelihoods don’t exist. But they do. And two beautiful, all-American kids’ lives are most likely gone. So you can worship at the altar of multiculturalism.
frick yourself. I curse your shitty parents who clearly didn’t correctly invest in your life.

You cant have a discussion on this board. Its impossible. This wasnt the case years ago.
Political talk has become nothing more than rehashed X propaganda from twink influencers.

There’s already a word for that. It’s called liberal.
The only people concerned with the facts are MAGA Republicans.

Sorry, but he's wrong.
Is she stupid? Absolutely.
More importantly, she is EVIL. She knew all of this and is now mocking those who opposed it.
The left is now going to start justifying daily violence.

Thx Loog.
I am pretty sure that the AAPA would have applied only to his initial visa for admission to the country, back in 2021, and not to the change in his status (asylum) under the Trump administration. But let’s assume otherwise, for the sake of discussion, and posit that his subsequent request for asylum was also governed by the AAPA.
A request under the AAPA does not remotely gain entry (permanent or otherwise) for the applicant. One of the requirements under the AAPA is that the individual “has cleared a background check and appropriate screening as determined by the Secretary of Homeland Security.”
Given that his asylum request was granted under the Trump administration, that administration seems to have acknowledged that he “cleared a background check and appropriate screening as determined by (Trump’s) Secretary of Homeland Security.”
