I don't think this is what Trump was referring to as he has consistently had policies that violate, or try to circumvent, the principle of non-refoulement.

Are you under the impression that an attorney, even an experienced one, knows every law there is off the top of his head? I’m smart enough to not opine when I’m ignorant to all of the facts. You are admittedly ignorant to the facts yet you still opine with hubris. It’s fascinating.

He’s answering questions real time, not reading a prepared speech. He is practically correct about things you’re suggesting he’s wrong about, and some of the “quotes” you’re attacking above he didn’t even say.
Because we are too nice and stupid, we weren’t vetting these people for being west-hating-Muslims who don’t intend to assimilate, at any point in the process.
Ultimately he was let into the country in 2021 and at that point we weren’t getting rid of him (for a handful of reasons).
