Supposedly was going to be part of the search.

If rumors are true that Lane wants to bring in Glasscock, then that may mean Austin’s boss Verge is allowing the new coach to replace him.

Awkward

IMO LSU is going to find or create a new spot for Austin Thomas. If Lane comes to LSU he will be forgiven and welcomed back. Too much of an asset

Lsu better have a backup plan for lane kiffin.

To me he could easily stay at ole miss. And they would take him back.

He’s left LSU like 4 times for other schools. There is no reason to make any effort to keep him.

Austin Thomas also helped construct our offense this year through the portal so he deserves some blame for that atrocity.

Fair statement. I think OL injuries and Offensive development and playcalling had a big factor in this.

The two portal additions on the OL weren't as bad as the 3 other guys that were here. Austin can't coach them. Brad Davis, Joe Sloan and BK are the ones to blame for the offense.

If you look Thomas up in the LSU directory, he shows up in both the AD and the football team. I suspect Verge will keep him if there is value there. He'll work for the athletic department.

You mean the OL injuries that forced LSU to play the better players?

Why? What has he done, specifically? He just seems like one of those "he's great because everyone says he's great" types.

The roster for LSU was, to be kind, deficient in key areas (OL, RB, even the DL underperformed). According to posters here, the coaching staff had some big holes. If his duties as GM put some of the responsibilities for talent acquisition in his hands - or, at least, development of the system for that acquisition - is he really an irreplaceable asset?

Austin probably takes the spot vacated by Verge when he got promoted to AD.

Yeah, I always found the praise for Austin to be very curious since our roster is so weak.
