North Texas is allowing their playoff Coach to announce his new destination while Coaching current team

Tulane will allow same with Sumrall

Ole Miss should follow suit and allow Kiffin to announce LSU while finishing out the season

Absolutely. The only reason they are being so butt hurt is because we are a rival. Put your pride aside and think logically about the situation and whats best for Ole Miss. For all they know Kiffin could get them all the way. Isnt that the point of all of this? Its no one's fault the calendar for college football is all messed up.

Not the same.

Tulane and North Texas dont have near the same program needs as Ole Miss.

North Texas may never reach the playoff again...same with Tulane. Their is a big difference between happy to be there and expect to be there every season.

Those coaches are moving up a level. Ole Miss doesn’t view themselves as a step down

Ehh… I don’t blame them. Tulane/NorthTx are completely different animals than SEC to SEC

If we found out our HC was leaving for Bama, no way we let him coach the playoffs. We probably wouldn’t let him coach another game period. Unfortunately, their hands are tied, they can’t fire him… he has to agree to leave since there’s no offset in the contract. Their only bargaining chip is to reduce his buyout owed to Ole Miss if he will just leave.

I would hope LSU to act the same way.

If the Gumps were about to poach our coach, I’d demand LSU be the biggest pains in the arse possible.

OM is fragile, very fragile. They rolled the dice with Kiff and lost, just line Tenn ,FIU and to a lesser extent, bama

Ole Miss can't let a departing coach hanging around the facility pre-portalling the football roster to their rival. Also, Ole Miss has their own HS signing day to complete in early December.

Untenable.

I mean maybe. Is Ole Miss better off in the playoff with a coach that has his foot out the door and is actively working for another school in your conference or an interim that is still fully committed?

If I were Ole MIss (thank God I am not!), I would NOT let my HC coach a single game when it is already known he is going to a big rival after season's end.

Every time Kiffin shows up on TV he will be referred to as LSU's new HC, a video commercial for LSU in every shot all while wearing an Ole Miss coaching shirt.

Whether he is LSU's coach on November 29 or the end of the playoffs he can still do this. IMO if everyone knows whats going on its the best thing.

A lot of us remember the way Kiffin left Tennessee. That was the reason USC left him at the airport when they fired him.

For Ole Miss it's a detriment to have a lame duck coach poisoning the well - the whole idea provides zero value to them. If Lane is leaving, they need to hire replacement and will do so early next week at the very latest.

High school signing day is 7 days from today and no program with any standards will punt on an entire recruiting class.

It might be the best shot Ole Miss has at retaining Kiffin. Let him coach through the playoffs and if they win or get to the championship game there’s a chance, as small as it is he might decide to stay.

Wait, why would LSU allow that? Forget Ole Miss, he needs to be recruiting and putting together a staff.

Whomever is holding this up all they are doing is hurting Ole Miss as each day passes.

Ole Miss could be left hi and dry in the coaches carousel this time around.

Sumeral - AU/FLA
Drink - FLA/Miz
Dill - Fla/Stays at AZ

Penn state -?
Arkansas - ?

Ole miss needs to be interviewing and making a real plan.

I can't believe some of you need to have it explained to you how leaving N Texas and Tulane for bigger programs is MUCH different than leaving Ole miss for LSU.

Exactly - there is no benefit for any party other than satisfying the clowns on message boards freaking out because of the unknown.
