Stats aren’t everything but Dom McKinley

Only has 9 tackles and 1 sack for the season. In our big time ranked matchups also he sort of disappeared. I expected him to be more of an impact guy and maybe even have a breakout year this year especially for a 5 star top 20 kid.

The defensive line as a whole underperformed. If Lane gets the job and wants O, that should be the call.

Gooden has been by far the most impactful Dline guy this season, as far as anyone else on the interior Dline, very average players

Guillory has also had a very strong year but yea seems outside of this two the rest of the d-line has been painfully average. It makes sense why we’re loading up so hard on DL players in the 26 class we need game changers upfront

O line and D line are reclamation projects for the new coach. That’s where the 25MM needs to go.

Interior Dline shouldn't be judged on stats since their role tends to be based around freeing up LBs for them to make the tackles. I haven't watched film to say that he had a good or bad year. We also had a lot of depth there compared to previous years so his playing time probably didn't increase much from last year. Breaux, Guillory, Gooden, and Mathis all played a lot this year to keep guys fresh

This is pretty consistent with his high school play no? There seemed to be a disconnect between his rating and his actual play as a recruit.

I read that he didn't play against Western Kentucky. Anybody have his snap count from PFF?

Payton was already regressing at FSU. Pyburn is what we expected. I think Butler has been better than expected and the injury to Reliford was pretty big. On the interior Guillory and Gooden have both played well but I thought Breaux would take a bigger step forward. Also remember Kyle Williams wasn't hired until most of these guys were already picked

Edge rushers? Yes. But the interior defensive line has actually been pretty darn good. Jacobian Guillory has had a really good season. Interior DL has been a bright spot. Now edge defenders has been disappointing especially with the expectations we expected they were going to bring.

No. His high school play was hot and cold. He seemed to take plays or even games off. He has not done that this year. I'd like to see the PFF grades. LSU's run defense was #30; the interior defensive linemen have a significant impact on that.

He hasn’t flashed much this year like we all thought he would. Disappointing season for him and many others on this team.

But But But Kyle is one of us. He's done a GREAT job.

The fact that Baker immediatly implemented more contact in practice as soon as Kelly was gone showed that BK had a system in place that made both sides of the ball less physical.
A lot of these kids probably weren't getting the physicality they needed in practice which is why we'd get our shite blown up on both the Oline and Dline every Saturday.

I thought Dom would wreck things this year....hasn't happened.

One of the most disappointing players this season in my eyes, really thought he was going to break out. Seems like he was better end of last season than he has been this year.

He’s eating up blocks for LBs.

He’s had very little impact. McKinely has regressed. Gooden regressed, but we knew that would happen. Breaux isn’t an SEC DL. So not all Kyle’s fault but damn.
