I thought Auburn was getting him? Durkin wouldn't be a bad option for them.

I posted that earlier and it kinda appears ambiguous, Hattiesburg (Charles Huff) or New Orleans (Jon Sumrall)

Durkin and a really good OC to work with Deuce Knight would be a great combo

I don't get the Sumrall love. He inherited a program in good shape. Sure, he maintained it but yeah.

Chicken said in another post yesterday that tulanes roster got gutted when Fritz went to Houston. If that’s the case, he didn’t walk into a perfect situation.

Tulane brought in a lot of good players from decent programs. Some worked out some didn't just like with every program.

I believe Tulane is in the top 3 of NIL in the AAC.

Program, yes. Team, no. Most of that roster went with Fritz.

Also, even though his star QB (Mensah) left for Duke, he's back in the conference title hunt again.

OM can’t be talking to Sumrall. That would be tampering with a potentially playoff bound coach, and we’ve been assured by OM fans that this is strictly out of bounds, and no coach with any integrity would leave their playoff team for a better job…

The Coaching Changes Board is the only place I've heard that name tied to Ole Miss. Maybe he gets a look but Tyrone Nix has been getting 'looks' for over a decade and a half now.

It's headed to Hattiesburg. The plane is predominantly used for Academic travel. The Provost or some other high ranking OM academic person likely has a meeting at Southern Miss.

He was fortunate Retzlaff fell into his lap.

No. Some key pieces maybe (Platt, Cooper and Webb) but it was only a handful that went to Houston.

Extremely. I would hate to see this team without him.

Sumrall was going to go into this year with journeyman Brendan Sullivan as the starting QB. Oof.

I don’t get the love either, but you are incorrect here. Tulane’s roster had to be rebuilt after Fritz left. I would prefer to take a chance on an offensive minded coach over Sumrall. I’d rather Morris or Dilly.

They should be hedging in case Lane leaves.

Would maybe be a .500 team if Retzlaff didn't fall into his lap in August.
