If Lane is at LSU after all this hype...what will 3-5 years down the road look like?

Does anyone else get the feeling that Lane will win a lot of games but may not be as successful once the shine wears off? That said, I truly hope he does really well for you all...college football is just better when LSU is toward the top.

3-5 national championships…duh.

Lol his offense alone gets you in the playoffs every year.
Paired with an average defense alone and that is 2 natties

Them championship trophies never lose their luster. We may have to wear sunglasses in the athletic office in 3-5 years.

At least 6 nattys in the next 3-5 years.

I think we’ll make some playoff appearances. But not necessarily a NC.
Lane’s rap over the years has been his immaturity. He tends to outsmart himself and trip over his own dick at least a couple of times a year.

Lane has been good this year, but let’s not forget he’s had plenty of bad losses there. He went 10-3 with a 14-1 caliber roster last year
He laid a giant egg at usc despite having elite talent all over the field
His teams generally are not fundamentally sound. He doesn’t care about grinding opponents to dust, which is historically how LSU wins big (2019 exception).
I don’t expect lane coached LSU teams to recapture the elite trench play that les miles brought

It will be a beautiful disaster.

Look at what ole Miss has done over the last 5 or so years, then add a bit more winning to that

I think LSU would be Kiffin’s destination spot, and he will have all the resources, and opportunities to cement his legacy. With the reported salary, NIL support, resources, recruiting ground, he essentially has to win a Title to justify it all.
If all goes well, Kiffin coaches at LSU for 15-20 years, and wins 2-3 Titles. He will win a lot of games, I even think he will win a Championship. The question will be can he win multiple, and solidify himself as one of the greats. LSU’s highs are as good as anyone’s but not as consistent as Bama, Ohio St, Georgia. If he can keep LSU consistent on a year to year basis, that will be the key.

A couple of playoff loses in which our offense scores 40+ points

Will this be enough to justify the amount of money being thrown his way and the level of hype he’s getting? Does it really match up?
