He's a good actor for sure. Bordering on great.

Like with most actors, you give them a good script like Memento, The Brutalist, LA Confidential, they look really good, but give them a bad script like Iron Man 3, and he doesn't look that great.

The Proposition is an incredibly underrated film, one of the best westerns of the past few decades and one most haven't seen unfortunately. he was great in that.

really like him, particularly his early roles. He’s made some questionable choices re:roles, but I’m still a fan.

He did such a good job as Special Agent Rakes in Lawless that my first instinct is to hate any other character I’ve seen him play.

He was way over the top in that role. Bordering on cartoonish.

He had a good run. He obviously carried Memento. He was great (as was everyone) in L.A. Confidential.

He's been good to great in everything I've seen him in. Like most actors, he's taken some bad roles, but he didn't make them bad.

I would agree with this.

He’s blown it away in some of my favorite movies, but for some reason I never really liked the guy (not personally), just something about him. Strange, I know.

I enjoyed the heck out of lockout with guy Pearce. I believe if he wasn't the main guy it would have been terrible. The dude can deliver for sure.

Agree 100%. Great cast: Ray Winstone, John Hurt, and Danny Huston (son of the director and brother of Anjelica).

Like almost every prominent actor, they are good/great at what they do. It all comes down to writing and direction and casting.

He went through a period there where I thought he was going to become Mr. Hollywood, but then sort of faded.

Time Machine
Count of Monte Cristo
Rules of Engagement (are THESE the motherfrickers lol)
