4Patriots, doomsday ultra paranoid conservative company, is hilarious

There whole schtick is installing fear that there’s going to be some doomsday, cataclysmic alien or US terrorizing event to leave people with no food or power, so you better get your supplies now before that happens.
Their recent commercial said “China has slowly been hacking US grid day by day planning to take over and shut down US power grid at some point in the near future.” That was their angle to sell their mini power generator.
Their angle to sell their disaster 50-day food supply kit is if an alien species takes over planet earth disrupting the supply chain of food, you don’t want to be left unprepared without a 50-day supply food kit.
Their marketing angle is panned to the hyper paranoid, super conservative segment that somehow there will be a doomsday event where you won’t have power or food for months. How do people not laugh at this whole operation?
This isn’t a knock on the Conservative Party as I am conservative. It’s just too far and dumb.

I mean it is pretty well known that we have an extremely vulnerable grid. Just because a company is using that to promote a cheap generator doesn’t mean it isn’t true.
Lights Out by Ted Koppel is a good book on the subject.
Is the United States going to be sent to the Stone Age by an EMP? No. But could portions of the United States suffer lengthy outages from a coordinated terror attack either physically at strategic power plants or cyber, absolutely.

There is actual evidence of this.

You can laugh your arse off when the time comes and I’m in Patriot snuggie, eating my 1095 day supply and you’re being chewed on by starving communists in food deserts.

Did you ask google for the most limp-wristed username available?
If you did... congratulations because your search result was spot on.

Yeah, there's a lot of grifting out there.
I learned when I bought X-ray glasses out of the back of a comic book along with some Sea Monkeys.

I just don't get cutting out such a huge swath of potential customers.

It’s even worse than just the vulnerability issue, apparently we have virtually no inventory of replacement parts on hand to fix it if something major does happen because we’re ruled by moronic sociopaths.
So no it’s not something I worry about frequently but it would be really bad if something like that did happen.

You should have been in New Orleans for Katrina and seen what happens to our population when they miss two meals. That’s enough for me to keep a case of MRE’s in the pantry. Not for aliens but for a hurricane.

Until it’s not.
The people CHOOSING to buy are either fools, or are well prepared.
I would imagine that the food can still be eaten, and replenished as time goes on.
I would also imagine that these “preppers” are very well armed.
That’s bad news for the SNAP recipients.
No matter what though, it’s their money. If they want to spend it on prepping, so be it.
They can spend it on whatever they want.

Some dry goods, and a means to defend yourself is not a bad call…ever.

Bro if society breaks down into chaos those without prep materials will exponentially outnumber those with it, and those with it will be overrun. Remember the contractors in Benghazi? They were actually trained and in shape, unlike most of these obese, untrained preppers

Love that they say their inventory guy went nuts and ordered way too much product, so they have to get rid of it to make room and of course it’s the customers lucky day. Riiiiiiiiiiight…

While I'm not worried about an alien invasion or Chinese attack, there are a lot of places which have potential for being in natural disasters (hurricane, tornado, earthquake, etc) which have a similarly disruptive impact. With that in mind, it's better to have those materials and not need them than to need them and not have them.
They could market it that way, but fear-mongering works so much better.

I’m not so sure about that.
Some of the unprepared can hardly walk across their house without breathing heavy. Your SNAP recipient friends would actually have to put some effort towards feeding themselves in a doomsday situation.
