Dumb question...If Saban is retired, why is Sexton still representing him?

Is that a contractual obligation or something? I really don’t know.
And no, I don’t think Saban is going to coach again, which is why I’m asking the dumb question.

Nick Saban works for Disney.

Saban is still working under a contract

So Sexton represents him for his TV contract as well? Interesting.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Do you really think that Sexton didn’t negotiate Saban’s ESPN deal?
Posted on 11/15/25 at 8:04 am to TigerNAtux
Saban still works and Sexton still negotiates contracts even if its media/corporate contracts
Posted on 11/15/25 at 8:04 am to TigerNAtux
Because he’s still under a contract and working. He retired from coaching… not broadcasting

Saban working for ESPN or anyone else, isn't like when you got hired at Walmart.

And AFLAC, and whoever else he does commercials for. He is probably making 5m a year in media and commercials. Sexton's team manages all of it.

What if I told you that people who work in the media had agents before coaches did?

He is making millions off commercials and other things he does. I imagine all of these companies go through his agent and NS gets to hand pick the ones he does. Plus he makes 1 Million from Bama. My guess he makes more now then when he was coaching

No such thing as a dumb question, only dumb people who ask questions.

He has other interests like Game Day, commercials and some such.

Saban has 10’s of millions in AD campaign and ESPN contracts per year. Sexton represents him in all of those.

Other opportunities outside of coaching.

Saban is still employed by the University of Alabama. He’s retired from coaching but is still working for U of A.

He is in the entertainment business now. He is on tv. He gets paid for commercials, appearances, you name it. That’s what agents do.

Sexton helps manage his VRBO.
