YouTube got that Google money backing them so Disney can't bully them like they've done to others

If it is a marathon, yes, Google can go longer. But the board likes to act like Disney is broke. They just invested 9 billion in buying Hulu, they ain't broke. This blackout hurts YTTV subscribers as well.

It's just dumb all around.

I'm just glad that this dispute coincided with LSU being a dumpster fire. Not being able to watch college football has stung a lot less this year.

It’s funny that Disney has convinced the masses to side with Google, the multi-trillion dollar tech company that despises all of us peons and uses us only to harvest our data. Just goes to show how much people hate Disney.

It's almost like Disney has standalone services that directly compete with YTTV and can afford to wait it out as their Hulu live and ESPN live subscription numbers go up with a growing number of users leaving to go to their platform during the dispute. Alphabet has stated that YTTV has lost about 24% of their subscribers year over year over the last month, while Disney has reported over 12 million new subscribers to Hulu and ESPN.

Are they? Disney has 100% of the leverage here. Google is richer, but it’s not like Disney is dependent on streaming. Disney is gaining direct subscribers through all this. Everyone that has kids probably already has Disney plus, so it’s not that hard to add Hulu or espn unlimited at this point. They’ve cornered the market here.

why? It takes two minutes to get going on a YouTube TV competitor.

Perhaps Google should have ponied up when sports leagues were negotiating their TV deals instead of letting Disney gain leverage and control of live sports
