It is really hard to judge the receivers based on Nuss being bad this year.

Jury is still out on Nic imo.

I'd lean Duce Chestnut or Denver Harris honestly

Man that 23 portal class in general was horrific. Can’t think of one defender that panned out in that class outside of zy Alexander and maybe andre sam

I will almost quote Bum Phillips referring to Earl Campbell in a different light obviously. "Sharp may not be in a class by himself as the biggest transfer portal miss but it doesn't take long to call the roll." Sharp started off at SELA and is about that qualify. Poor blocker...slow as molasses and not even a great pass catcher. He is a JOKE of a football player.

I see some posters picking Denver Harris. He had so much trouble at A&M I wasn't surprised he didn't pan out. He wasn't a miss or a bust since many people expected very little.

I truly brought into the sharp preseason hype. His fumble vs Clemson was the first red flag. Didn’t come close to being the playmaker in the pass game we expected and his blocking is straight up bad

Harris was always a boom or bust guy. Showed real potential as a true freshmen but had serious maturity issues. Ngl I felt him being in a more stable program and also by all accounts being extremely tight with Harold Perkins would lead to him keeping his head down and breaking out. Didn’t come close to panning out.

Yep duce chestnut and Denver Harris.

Duce simply didn’t have close to the size or athleticism to be a boundary sec corner. Been playing solid ball for Syracuse at safety in the ACC

Denver Harris had massive maturity issues and simply didn’t live up to the 5 star upside

Well, Kiffin signed the #1 and #3 transfer classes in 2024 and 2025, so I’d start with their roster. Of course, the whole country missed on Chambliss.

5-star Denver Harris was supposed to save the DB room. Instead he never played then transferred out.

Production relative to hype/rating it's
1.Denver Harris
2. JK Johnson, did get hurt first year
both in the '23 class
Nic is 3rd but I'm willing to give benefit of the doubt with how bad our offense is as a whole.

To expand on that. Here's all the secondary transfers we got for the 2023 and 2024 seasons:

CB Jyaire Brown
CB JK Johnson
CB Duce Chestnut
CB Denver Harris
CB Zy Alexander
S Austin Ausberry
S Jardin Gilbert
S Andre Sam

Literally found 2 worthwhile players form that lot of 8.
Chestnut, Brown, Johnson, Harris & Ausberry did nothing or next to nothing here and Gilbert was a disaster all last season. Sam and Alexander were good players but certainly not game changers. In that lot of 8 guys, not a single one ended up drafted.

They did better in the 2022 transfer class in the secondary with Greg Brooks, JBC and Garner...but in 2023 and 2024 talk about some major reaches and whiffs

Still remember Denver Harris infamously not even making the trip for the FSU game

one of the biggest mysteries

You can say “oh well Matt House was a bad coach” but he’s a great linebackers coach. that’s literally what he does in the NFl and they love him.

But Omar was so out of the looked like we dropped a dude out of a seniors league

My biggest problem with BK and the portal is that he did the opposite of what he said he was going to do. He preached HS recruiting as the foundation and the portal as a key supplemental piece. Yuh. Last offseason, he was forced to scramble in the portal for players literally all over the field. Somehow, his core got weaker from Year 1 to Year 4.
