For me, calling someone a jackass stands out to me. Mainly because of a memory. I remember when I was like 5 and we were visiting our grandparents. My dad, sister, and I started roughhousing on the pullout bed while my mother was sitting on the end of it. And the bed breaks. And my grandfather walks in and stares at us and hisses “jackass” and just simply leaves the house. I can’t hear that word anymore without feeling a little ashamed.

While I've never been called an oxygen thief, that remains one of the insults I use prior to going Full Metal Jacket on someone. The amount of insults I've spewed after I make sure I'm on mute this week would hopefully make Gunny proud.

I don't have to try too hard to keep myself out of the redzone of a Texas woman saying, "well bless your heart." That would make me examine my life choices as soon as one grandma in particular said it.

The best insult ever is, 'Who is this clown?', because 1) you're calling them a clown, and 2) you're implying that they are not even one of the better known clowns.

Calling someone a f@qqot has weight in my neck of the woods, so I would say, that’s my throw hands threshold.

Anything you would call a 13 year old. It instantly pisses me off if another grown man calls me one of these names.

Chief, Ace, Slugger, skipper, tiger, big guy, etc.

Interesting question .

I guess i would say anything that has to do with superficial/physical stuff.. even though I wasn’t a great student, ive never been insecure about my intelligence.. i was an avid reader from a very early age, and always had what my parents referred to as a “smart mouth”.. i guess the adults didnt like a kid who questioned everything and could also talk circles around them .. BUT i grew up as a chubby kid with the thick birth control glasses and the metal mouth and zits and everything else.. the summer after i turned 14 i went from being short and fat to being tall and skinny almost overnight , actually in about two months .. later i worked out, filled out and all that- but i think most of us carry around things in our psyche from way, way back.. and im no different .

Fool...

There's a verse in Matthew where Jesus says if you call someone a fool you're liable for hellfire.

I'm a little 'stitous on using that one.

As for being called something... well, I'm not telling y'all that.

Being called names has zero effect on me. The fastest way to make me hate you is publicly explaining something as you would to a child when you damn well know I already know everything you are saying.

Words don't really bother me. Being slapped or spit upon though...

It's a big reason why I could never be a cop.
